"The TARDIS is in the shop, so I thought I'd swing by."
I can't do it in the thread, so I'd like to thank MeFi's Own (Apparent) Time Traveler Jane the Brown for her fascinating examples of bygone behavior in this AskMe.

Speaking of mental health...
I remember reading either a post or a comment that listed some sources for, I believe, free online counselling services. Can't find the post or comment in question. Does anyone kmow where it is? It was probably an askme.

Greatest weakness is baloney or bacon or actually a thoughtful answer
Someone once posted a link to or description of a good response to 'what's your greatest weakness' that remained polite while pointing out to the interviewer that it is maybe not a great question. [more inside]

Drug Awareness Hump day
About a year and a half ago, I asked this question trying to identify a dj-mix I had heard on the radio. It remained my great personal unsolved ask-me-stery, the only Q that truly stumped the masses - until a few hours ago. Praise ooklala! [more inside]
What are some of AskMe's fastest, most amazing success stories?
The sidebar (see Apr 12) featured this post, in which someone's seemingly obscure question was answered in just six minutes. I think MY experience was even more amazing (as my question was more obscure), though it did take Gator an hour and ten minutes to cough up an answer. What are some other AskMe Astounding Stories of Snappy Answers to Obscure Questions?
What is the shortest time between an Ask question and a correct answer.

Problem questions get problem answers
Criticizing a question is not the same as insulting the asker. It's also not necessarily derailing. [more inside]
I know, we aren't Digg. Or Yahoo Answers. Or Fluther. But I'm curious.
So I had this crazy idea while surfing the internet in my apartment with no other living soul except my cats who are currently attempting to bridge the gap between sleep and suspended animation. [more inside]

I thought Metafilter revolved around SF
New Yorkers perceive their own city differently because it's constantly reflected back to them in movies and books. Was this discussed on Metafilter, maybe in a comment on Ask? [more inside]
Asking better questions.
How can I ask better questions? This is my first MetaTalk post, so just let me know if this is the wrong place or if it's somehow out of line. [more inside]
There's a reason we didn't give you that pony, Timmy.
We can browse users' favorited posts/comments via their profile pages pretty easily. So, I'd like the same functionality when it comes to "best answers": ability to click on the number of "best answers" given to a user, and see which of their answers have been marked as such. I figure something as obvious as this would have been built in by now, so why ain't this pony prancing? [more inside]

Waiting is not an option.
Telling anonymous to wait to test when they have specifically requested pre-birth paternity testing methods does not "help in finding an answer". [more inside]
Good ask metafilter thread that doesn't answer the question? Yes, they exist.
This (Medical Marijuana ask.mefi thread) is a good example of an ask metafilter thread where people don't answer the specific question of the poster, but still remain civil and helpful. Yay. So there's an existence proof that people can be helpful while not answering the question asked (and not fall all over themselves to be jerks).
Is this the worst AskMe response yet?
Is this the worst AskMe response yet? By my count fifteen of the eighteen comments do not answer the question and should be deleted.
In this thread on ask.mefi, purpleporpoise asked me to defend my call-out. (More inside)
Is using "best answer" on subjective questions appropriate?
The best answer feature used in this AskMeFi question seems a little disconcerting to me. For a question that's so subjective, is it really appropriate? I find it off putting.
Don't be an ass rule
Okay, the don't be an ass rule for Ask Me and supplying actual answers? Would these over here be keeping in that spirit? Just curious.
