Looking for a AskMe post about website design for an author

As far as I can remember, the Asker was an author/writer/journalist type who was wanting feedback on whether or not their site was working from a design perspective. One of the responses was an example of three different links that showed how other individual authors presented their work on their personal site and outlined the design elements that made these websites so good. There may have been mild critiques on what the OP could do to tweak their layout. The post was fairly recent, as in less than a year ago. I just can't find it!

Another MeFi author sighting

If you read the short story Cat Person in the New Yorker and the NYT interview with author Kristen Roupenian, maybe you wondered what other MeFites thought of it, because it seemed to be right up Metafilter's alley. So did the author. Congratulations to MeFi's Own Sock Person Cat Puppet, who has great taste in sockpuppet usernames, among many other things.

Write is Music for the inner voice

MeFites can post their music to MetaFilter Music and be critiqued. I would love it if the same could be done for prose and poetry. [more inside]

You don't have to be bananas to post here, but it helps.

Metafilter's own soulbarn recently had his new book on bananas favorably reviewed at Salon. I look forward to reading it.

The Corporal's nemesis appears

If you've given up on that long Corporal Sanchez thread, it suddenly gets interesting at this point, when the author of the website that's the subject of the post joins MetaFilter and the discussion.

That was nice of you, but... (don't post my stuff to mefi)

Er-
I certainly appreciate the thought, and the enthusiasm, but when the time comes I'll buy a text ad like anyone else. I don't think of Metafilter as my personal billboard.
Matt, please kill the thread, or move it back here to "metafilter-related", as that's about as close to relevant to this site as my book is.

Evolution of writers at MeFi

I'm sorry if this is a stupid, self-indulgent post (so no problems if it's deleted forthwith) but it's based on over two years of reading MetaFilter almost completely. It certainly seems interesting to me - but I may be wrong. See? I've noticed several users becoming ever more adept at expressing themselves: from more drawn-out to pithier; from abstruser to clearer; from all-over-the-place to more-to-the-point. Does anyone else find, by merely participating here and being exposed to MeFi's notoriously severe critique, that they're writing better than when they first joined? Specially foreigners (or non-Americans) like me? To what an extent is MeFi interaction good practice for writers?

A place to post short written things?

This thread makes it apparent that there a lot of creative writers in the mefite community. Perhaps a place, similar to Mefi Music, for users to post their short stories, plays, and poems?

Author Douglas Rushkoff contributes to thread on his novel

Douglas Rushkoff contributed to this thread about his new online novel. The thread is slipping down the page rapidly, so I thought I'd post a message here to bring attention to it.

online novel forum

As I don't have a forum for myself anymore, I thought I'd throw an obscure post into metafilter to see if anyone bites.

As you may or may not know, I've started an novel online... now, I was wondering what the interest would be in setting up a system where anyone could create an account and their own books (main advantage being ability to get instant feedback and edit anywhere). I've already set up a CMS with full CM pages. But if I made it public, would people come? It's not quite a journal, not a blog, and while some of the features are similar, there's different stuff behind this.

What do people think?
