AskMe Answer Generator

Before you post your next AskMe question, you might try checking out MetaChat's thread of suggested automated AskMe answers. From "Don't eat it" to "Try Craigslist" to "Check out these twenty-five identical previous AskMe questions on this topic" to "Learn how to communicate. Pouring your heart out to 60,000 random strangers on the internet ≠ effective communication with your partner", we've pretty much got every topic covered.

How to get a quick dose of Metafilter Music

What's the best way to listen to all the songs currently on the front page of music.metafilter.com as a continuous playlist? Any suggestions? Is there something I'm missing? If there really is no way to do this currently, could I suggest some dynamically generated playlist page, that operates like existing playlists, but takes you through, say, the last 50 tracks.

RSS autodectect to tag-specific feed

Here is a little feature request. I was thinking that the tag results page (e.g. posts taged with "ski"), should have a rss auto-detect meta tag in them that points to the tag specific RSS feed. Currently it has one that points to the site wide RSS feed. The specs are clear that you are allowed to have multiple rss auto detect tags in one document.

Whatcha think?

Automatically detect and fix HTML errors on comments/posts.

Automatically detect and fix HTML errors on comments/posts. In case of invalid HTML, it will automatically try to fix the markup using HTML Tidy, list the errors and force a preview.

Is there an automatic identical URL detector?

Facts On Farts was deleted within ten minutes of posting. In point of fact, the double post alluded to was all about turds. I checked it myself. Is there some sort of automatic feature that sniffs out identical URL's? Because this was in error, even though I was warned before posting that it looked like a duplicate (but wasn't). FWIW, the fart site actually was written to address a lot of things that any reasonable person might be curious about.

Automatic detection of the un-best of the web?

Would it be possible to do a little real-time checking for easily catchable sub-par posts, and provide the user with a little advice or more information?

One instance where (given the largely negative feedback in this earlier post) this might be appreciated: If the post consists of a single link to an ebay item, present the user with a message as they preview, something along the lines of "You appear to be posting a single link to an item on ebay. Even if you think that it is quirky or wacky or outrageous, metafilter is probably not the place for it, and you may wish to reconsider your post."

There is some more inside.

Is an automated search feature possible?

Is an automated search feature possible? Before submitting let's sayMahir's "I kiss you" or "All your base are belong to us" the posted url would be filtered through existing posts.

Poster would receive a message saying something like : thanks for the effort but someone posted that already with a link to the original post.

Possible?
