RSS autodectect to tag-specific feed October 24, 2006 8:38 PM Subscribe
Here is a little feature request. I was thinking that the tag results page (e.g. posts taged with "ski"), should have a rss auto-detect meta tag in them that points to the tag specific RSS feed. Currently it has one that points to the site wide RSS feed. The specs are clear that you are allowed to have multiple rss auto detect tags in one document.
Whatcha think?
Whatcha think?
muchas gracias.

Back to the newsfilter.metafilter.com idea, if Matt and Jess aren't interested in setting up a sub-site, how about on the front page, where it says:I'm pretty sure it doesn't solve everyones problems. I mean, they are still going at it over there, so.. But, it sure seems like a neat idea to me.

Matt sets it up so when you mouse over the number of comments, you see all the tags that are attached to the thread.
Kinda like this

It's discrete, it doesn't change the format of the page at all, and it allows people to see what the link relates to without having to click it. Seems to solve every one's problems, no?

One more request that the "category" section of the AskMe RSS feed should actually include the question's, you know, category.
Having been away for a few days I've just waded through 250+ questions, over half of which I have no interest in. If the feed included the question's category then I could easily filter out all of the categories I can't help to answer. Please, Matt? Should only require 1 more line in the RSS-generating script.
