Please help me find this post
I'm looking for a MeFi post about people setting up a co-op in San Francisco. The core people involved treated it as a startup, almost, and a few others would cycle in and out of the house. There was an interview process to join the co-op. I just can't seem to find it; thanks for any pointers.
seeking a specific comment
I recall reading a comment here on metafilter a long time ago with a proposal for a ridiculous reality TV show. I would like to find that comment. Googling has proven extremely difficult. [more inside]
Metatalktail Hour: Great find!
Good Saturday evening, MetaFilter! This week, veggieboy says: "Inspired by some very old recipes my mom unearthed and by having watched way too much Antiques Roadshow, I’d love to hear about people’s best “finds.” Doesn’t matter whether the value is based on sentiment, money or amusement." Seeking a Particular Answer
I am looking (badly) for a very favorited answer to an AskMe from the last few years about how men shouldn't consider themselves feminists because they ask if they can help but instead should just help. [more inside]
Abuse Complaint Handlers
I'm trying to find an FPP about the people who handle abuse and content complaints at various social networks. It went into detail of various policies about therapy after having to look at such terrible stuff every day. Does this ring a bell?
Looking for a MeTa
Does anyone remember a MeTa about AskMe questions that really, really did not go the way the asker expected? I can't seem to find the post I'm thinking of. It would have been fairly recent, probably posted in the last year or so.
Halp: Googling "your fucking Macbook Pro" didn't bring up any MeFi results.
My Google-fu is failing me: someone posted a comment a while back, probably on the Blue, ranting against the privileged idiocy of "minimalism"/"simplifying your life". It brought up the privileged idiot's Macbook Pro several times, and how they'd like everything in life to be more like it, not realizing that their smooth-lined aluminum shit costs money and most people don't have that. If anyone remembers the comment, I'd greatly appreciate a link!
You know, just in case I want to write something for the Fringe Festival...
I'm looking for a comment that I just can't find and want to read again. It detailed a version of Sex In The City as performed as a Beckett-like Black Box stage production. The women wailed a chorus of " THE SHOES" someone said " I fear I am not fecund". I have tried every permutation I could think of with no success. I'm 99% sure I read it here.
This is why we have favorites, isn't it?
Working out while at work? I didn't imagine that post did I? [more inside]
How to search favorites for posts/comments by a certain user
Is there a way to search my favorites for comments I have favorited by a specific user? [more inside]
Why did I not favorite it.
I'm looking for a site that I'm pretty sure I saw either as a Projects or Metafilter post a few months ago. It had a bunch of random questions for you to fill out; I remember "Who shot the serif" as one. The site was black, and it was really slick and user-friendly. It saved your answers to make a profile you could link your friends to. Please help; googling for "cool site" is unsurprisingly unfruitful!
Post or comment about a beloved judge?
I'm having a dickens of a time finding a post or comment (and possibly an AskMe spawned by the post) about a judge who was famous for his stylish and funny decisions, and even had an extensive fan website dedicated to him. Someone also linked to a blog that collected well-written or notable legal opinions. Can anyone help me find this post?
Please tell me I didn't imagine this...
Racking my brains here looking for a semi-recent (this year? 2009?) Ask Metafilter question: Someone's wife was documenting every perceived slight and argument, I believe by printing out chats and emails.
Please tell me I'm not imagining this post, as it had some thoughtful answers that would be useful to show to a friend to whom this is now happening!
What's the fake radar website?
Find-that-Question: A while ago there was a question about a website/application that would throw all sorts of cool little radar screens and such up on the screen. I think it ultimately was used to make a background in a news conference? I'm not sure. But can anyone find it? I'm tried searching for all combinations (wha? "combinations" isn't in the FF 3.5 dictionary) of computer, screen, movie, radar, and website. Help :/
Play me off
Did I hallucinate a Metafilter comment? I remember reading the line "Play him hither, Lute Cat" on Metafilter recently and though it was so hilarious I needed to illustrate it. I wanted to give credit to the original commenter, but I can't for the life of me find the comment. All my styles of google-fu have failed me. Did this comment actually exist?
Help me find an old post
Can anyone help me find a post that I'm sure I saw (and perhaps I even posted myself) here on Metafilter a while back with a commercial done by a regional county sherrif's office encouraging the viewer to narc on their significant others? [more inside]
Looking for Blabbermouth
Looking for an old AskMe — the question was something like "I talk too much. How can I stop?" It was posted within the past six months or so. I think I even gave an answer, but for the life of me I can't find it in searches or in my answers.
Help Me Find a Thread
There was something posted a few weeks ago (can't even remember if it was in the blue or the green) about a website that allows you to design your own paper robots or creatures and then fold them up according to a pre-made template. Trigger any memories?
Help Me Find Defense Spending Thread
Help a guy out. I'm looking for a link to a website that was posted here a few months ago. It was a flash animation about what America could do as a country if it reduced its defense spending by 5%. I've searched and just can't seem to find the original thread. Can anyone help? Please?
