Flag Request

Why not place the [!] flag on the front page instead of having to open a thread? The Dish TV post is so bad on so many levels that I felt all icky opening it to flag it. heheh

Flagging on "Recent Comments"

Any chance we could get the "flag post" link on the my recent comments page? If it's easy that is, not really a big deal. I just spend a lot of time reading comments on there these days instead of the actual threads.

New Flagging Reason

This had me thinking: wouldn't it make sense to have "needs 'more inside'" as a reason when flagging posts? I flagged it, but had to put "other;" and, if memory serves, plenty of good first-time posters have had their first threads derailed by the first few "whoa! muddying up the front page there!" comments.

There are too many things in this thread to flag individually.

Apologist!: There are too many things in this thread to flag individually.
We start out with unsupported speculation from a wonk with a blog, whose source article doesn't back up his suppositions; we move into a screeching match where those who are critical of Bush but aren't willing to drink the Kool-Aid get called "apologists" for the administration; we have a melting pot of conspiracy theories and ignorant frothings; we have yammering and emotional appeals... The list goes on and on.
Have we just had too many decent Katrina threads, so we're now stuck stirring the hurricane's flotsam? The discussion wobbles between shitty assertations of opinions and shitty snarks, and S@L, PP and Dios aren't even there (without them, Delmoi seems to be the whipping boy de jour).
I understand that people are still angry about Katrina and the Federal response. And I'm not above getting into a scrap just for scrapping, but jesus. I hate it when Metafilter looks like how ParisParamus imagines that we do all the time. And something to note is that we seem to have that problem more when it's liberals vs. left-wingers, treating each other with all the consideration of rodents eating their young.
This post is ugly; the comments are shitty. Can we have an end to Katrina now unless there's something that really needs posting? Or is Metafilter going to by Prometheus's liver for the next week or so?
[I'd make a "more inside" thing, but I don't know how]

I'm flagging the breakage of flags.

I was trying to flag a remark, but Firefox gives me a wierd error after is says the message got sent, as it's redirecting back to the original post. Just wondering if message was (probably) received. and to point out the bug.

Could we have comments on the flag page?

This post about readings for a wedding has great responses, and links to other threads with great responses (disclaimer: I responded to one of them.) I flagged the link as Other, expecting to be able to comment, but sadly, there is no comment capability. Please administrator, consider granting this pony, "comments on the flag page," if it is not too large and cumbersome.

Firefox and New Tabs

I have my preferences set to open links in a new window, but this should only apply to external links right? When I click [!] on a post, the flag form appears in the same tab (using Firefox obviously, on Windows), but when I hit the "Flag this post" button on the form, the result (including the redirect back to the thread) opens a new tab. I've noticed other situations too where internal metafilter links open in a new tab. Minor, but an annoyance of note.

Can I Remove My Double?

Would it be possible to auto delete a post if the original author flags it as a double post? I double posted, I flagged it, but it is still there, perhaps I should be able to remove it?

Pony: "this is fake" flag

Does anyone else want "this is fake" added as a reason on the flag-this-post form?

Could we get a "troll" option for flagging?

AskMe Flag?

"Didn't check google before posting"
Can this be added as a reason to flag an AskMe post? Or is this already covered by "it breaks the guidelines"?

Is it secret, or is it safe?

Please, if your front page post links to anywhere remotely not worksafe, could you make sure this is properly flagged?

X New Comments Disappears on MeTa

Unlike the behaviour at Metafilter itself, here on Metatalk, after I arrive at the new flat front page with the (x new) flags on threads, if I click into a thread to read the comments then hit the back button on my browser, I seem to be losing my (x new) flags.

Should I filter MetaFilter (asks mathowie)?

This thread sucks. The link doesn't jump down to the story, the subject matter isn't very funny or interesting, it's just stupid. The post is too long, the comments are pretty pointless. I would delete it, but it could create more trouble than it is worth. What should be done about sub-par links? Anything? Take the good with the bad?

Flag Threads to Follow

I'd really like to have some way to flag threads taht I'd liek to follow. I'm finding that certain thread die off, but I think that it is just because the topics drop down the page and people don't bother to scroll down.

It would be difficult to develop a UI for this... maybe a link at the top of the page to toggle "view all/view flagged."

Just a thought.
