Metatalk comments not shown in profile September 24, 2001 6:44 AM   Subscribe

When I click on someone's user name, why doesn't it show their metatalk comments as well as their mefi ones? Am I missing something, or is that info just not available?

With all the increased traffic, I have found that going to my own user info page is an easy way to get back to all of the threads I have been active in, and with the current state of MeFi, I have been spending more and more time on metatalk these days, so I'd like to be able to use this feature for metatalk as well.

Note that I'm only about 90% certain of the following, and have been known to be horribly horribly wrong on occasion.

MetaTalk and MetaFilter are two different instances of the same application. MetaTalk tends to be a few months behind MeFi because it's a pain in the ass to update the code and the database as often as MetaFilter gets it.

While they share a user database (much like MeFi and The5k and other sites on the MeFi Network would) the different commenting systems are distinct.

Pretty close. Metatalk is actually built on an old code base of Mefi. Hence it doesn't have some of Mefi's nifty features.
