I should clarify that some... Matt created an IE6 registry file that apparently adds a metafilter sidebar to IE6... I'm guessing as more of an autonomous bar than the MeFi sidebar that just shoves the page in the _search frame. So... my question really is... I've run the reg file, but can't figure out what to do now.

oh, I should take that offline.
anil wrote it, when ie 6 was first beta'd. They had a really cool tool for managing sidebar stuff. it was a bit more permanent than the sidebar bookmarklet. They seemed to scrap it from the final release, so I'll ax it.

Yeah, sorry 'bout that. The feature got pulled, for the most part. I'm guessing we'll see some vestige of it again in a future release, and its presence won't hurt your system any until then anyway. posted by anildash at 10:55 PM on October 26, 2001
