Username appearing variously with titlecase and lowercase October 6, 2006 10:30 AM   Subscribe

Why does my username appearing in the top left corner not match the name that is posted when I comment? My login username is lowercase while the one that appears in comments is titlecase. Live preview displays my name in lowercase as well. I think I used a capital S when I first signed up (which was stupid since I prefer the lowercase s).

It's a bug. Some places show how you entered it when you last logged in.

Yeah. You used a capital S when you first signed up so it shows that below your posts and on your userpage. At the top right, next to "Posting as:", and for the live preview it shows your name as you typed it to log in.

I've grown to dislike any capitals on odiv, but I signed up with ODiV so I'm stuck with it.

This, believe it or not, was part of the reason I abandoned danOstuporStar.

You think caps are bad, try living with ill-considered underscores.

amen on the underscores! what was I thinking? Or, perhaps, why was I not thinking!?!?

Ach underscores. I was tricked into using an underscore by my own self, which had grown used to games and stuff that required me to place the underscore or else go with the weird and feminine "Mistera", which sounds like some kind of x-men chick.

I can't feed my children these days. And exclamation points! It's like they're made of solid gold.
