I'm home March 30, 2016 7:00 PM   Subscribe

In the What's New thread a while back, I mentioned I was having heart surgery and being terrified. I received a lot of well wishes from mefites, to which I would like to respond, collectively, Thank You. I've just gotten home this evening to an enormous pile of mail, but I wanted to drop a quick line to say thanks and that I'll reply later in this thread (maybe on the weekend) with any gory details etc. I'm too tired now, but just wanted to show my face.

As I used to say to my dog... HEAL!

Seriously, take it easy and bypass at least as much as the surgeons did.

I'll be right over with the Xbox and a heart healthy lasagna! Are you gonna take all those Perocet?

So glad you're doing okay. And if you had to have anything implanted, I hope you made the concession to the modern world and went electric, and not steam. The retro charm just isn't worth all that fiddling with coal.

Glad to hear you are home and doing well. As a person with four stents in his heart, I want to tell you that the mental healing is as important as the physical one. By that I mean watch a lot of I Love Lucy episodes. Laughing is good for the healing.

Didn't read that thread, but: felicitations and friendlove to you, pjern. I can barely remember my own name these days with the sporadic middle-agery sometimes, but I do remember you're one of the good ones, by gum.

Congratulations and best wishes for a quick recovery. In June it will have been 12 years since my quadruple bypass, so there is life after heart surgery. I remember how hard it was in the beginning and how long it took for me to feel really healed, so I hope it helps to know there are so many people here pulling for you.

So glad to hear you're doing well. I meant to drop you a line when I was in Indy, but I'm a terrible flaky person who never sends the letters they mean to, so I didn't. Also I don't know how to care for sick people without feeding them, and I think the saying is feed a cold, starve a cardiac procedure, so I wavered over what to send.

Get lost of rest and come back strong!
