So, anyone want to venture a guess as to when the number of registered users will surpass the number of threads?

7152 vs. 6956 (as I write) ... jeez, it could be tomorrow. Certainly by Monday. (Two thousand new users since March. Waxy, you really ought to point out whether those figures represent the beginning or the end of the month.)

I'll take a wild guess here and say 3:15pm PST Sunday. Is this a pool? Is there a prize?

My gosh, this is an interesting sort of milestone. I wish it weren't so late so that I could figure out some sort of significance for it.

Not to rain on the parade, but since membership never expires, this has less significance than one might think. Unless one thinks it has no significance.

Hm, I forgot that Matt had to start batching the add-up of new members. So here it is 16 hours later and the total number of users remains at 6956. :-( I'm still going to bet it happens by Monday, though.

I guess all of my predictions are way off. 10,000 looks faster than even I would have guessed. I'm just waiting for the next "pick em" contest. Any other contests that I'm missing out on? I'm computer less for the next couple of weeks and my reading all of the 675 new threads and 6900+ comments from my last log in leaves me wondering if anyone can leave for about a month and not feel left out. Maybe everyone just needs to take a week off here and there rather than finding millions of new posts that aren't worth posting. The fee based seems more and more likely so just let me know what the payment system will be.
