Metafilter for artists/designers/photographers? May 19, 2001 5:33 PM Subscribe
Metafilter is a great site, but by sheer definition it covers a wide gamut of topics. Are there any Metafilteresque or 'slash' sites for artists, designers or photographers? I want a k10kesque slash site to visit.
Aside from that, what other wonder sites are there which fit into this mold? I'm currently enjoying iaslash.org a great deal, which is for information architects. Other than that, I'm stumped. Thanks!

Wow, thanks for that one, Matt. Definitely looks good.. and a fast loading front page too!

SomethingAwful have their Graphic Design forum. Quite often there's a gorgeous picture.
I'm so tired of k10k and their family. I want something new.

Designiskinky is a nice alternative to K10K. Although, I guess, they might be in the same 'family'.
I'd prefer a K10K site that, instead of having Flash issues, had in-depth profiles of different design agencies and good interviews with the designers themselves. That's why I subscribed to Computer Arts.. for the profiles. I'm a bit tired of Flash episode after Flash episode myself..

Philip Greenspun's photo.net is where I've always hung out for photo stuff.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys.
sawks: dreamless is a bit 'locked up'. It seems they don't want to let too many people into the site (!)

you could always hijack the forums at crashspace.org.
no one's really using them. :/
