Is this a bug or by design? Gray frame
around the most recent comment on recent activity.
Instead of the usual gray box. This
is what it looks like in Unprofessional Mode.
So if you look at an Ask thread on its own, best answers are marked with a distinct background.
However, in Recent Activity, best answers are marked with a green check. That's because "my answers" are marked with a distinct background.
I find this unnecessarily confusing and would appreciate some consistency.
Ideas from the floor on the best solution are welcome!
Pony request: I know this is slightly silly, but I would like validation for something that I find myself doing occasionally - can clicking on the check mark next to a question with a best answer in it jump me straight to the first best answer in the comments? Sometimes I read a question and want to just see what the person thought the best answer is. I did not see any requests for this in a search going back to 2008, so I figured I'd ask.
Having the "AskMe Tick" go up upon resolution rather than Best Answer? [more inside]
When and why did AskMe best answer highlighting change from light to dark? I fear change, and the effect is more jarring than I expected it to be. If this isn't something we can toggle, anyone have a Greasemonkey script?
Favorites and best answers. How about when you mark something as "best answer" it also gets an automatic "favorite?" [more inside]
Just wanted to start a discussion on whether it's a good idea to limit the number of "best answers" in an AskMeFi thread. I started reading this thread
and thought about forwarding it to a friend of mine, but the entire thing is almost unreadable due to the color contrast because the original poster "best answered" every comment. In addition, especially to a new user who doesn't necessarily know all of the formatting conventions, the whole thing is really busy. Nothing against the original poster, who is well within their rights to "best answer" as they see fit, but readability suffers in cases like this.
Bug Report: favorites from username (example
, look for the comment on "September 10, 2011") uses old(? non-sprite
anyways) best answer tick image which goes to http://images.metafilter.com/mefi/icons/tick.png and currently returns a 500 internal server error.
Just want to point out an excellent, very informative response to an AskMeFi question I posted earlier today. [more inside]
Does the presence of a marked Best Answer in an AskMe keep it alive shorter or longer? [more inside]
I noticed that in this Ask Me thread
, the original poster marked one of his responses as best answer
Does this happen a lot and I've just never noticed it before? I'm not sure it's worth changing, just sorta ... odd.

Is there a script or trick that I can use to display a list of the comments I marked as "best answer" in my own questions? I'm thinking for recipes, "recommend me music..." and similar queries, it'd be great to be able to copy/paste or print out a list of the comments I intend to delve into more later. I'm thinking there's already a way, but I just don't know it.
Tiny pony request. On the AskMe front page, a question has a green checkmark next to it if any of the answers has been marked "best answer." If you look at your own history of AskMe coments, there's a green checkmark next to any of your AskMe answers that was marked "best answer." In that same history of your AskMe comments, why not have a green checkmark next to the title of any question in which there have been "best answers" by anyone else? [more inside]

AskMe pony request: How about an option to receive an email notification when an answer you gave in AskMe has been marked best answer? New askMe guideline: Must have a theoretical "Best Answer".
is listed as having a best answer, but no answer is highlighted.
Just curious about something... when someone answers an AskMe question and it gets marked as one of the best answers, shouldn't that also count for them as being favorited by someone? Or... no?
Which AskMefi questions have elicited great responses or answers - the sort that just perfectly answer the question, or those where what seems like a long shot is serendipitously answered by the perfect person? Looking at the "metafilterhistory" tag, I found this

has a "best answer" checkmark, but no best answer inside.

Pony: when browsing the archives of ask.me the navigation for pages says next page and previous page. Could it be changed to older posts and newer posts? Also the color of links in "best answers" is the same as the answer.
Being able to mark a best answer in AskMe is very useful. However, what are you supposed to do when you just can't decide which one is best?

In AskMetafilter, if the tags box extends into a highlighted "best answer" box, the two collide instead of readjusting for each other. This includes a text wrap-around. I demand perfection down to the pixel.
This Ask me thread
has the "Best answer" checked on the main page, but nothing is showing up in the thread. Just thought I'd let you know.
An ability to unmark "Best Answer", I have on several instances accidently clicked the link (it's such a big target). Even a confirmation page would stop this from occuring, I'm not alone right?
has a checkmark on the front page of AskMe, but no best answers marked inside. Opera on Mac OS 10.3.9.
You can't flag your own replies to an AxeMe (suck it, haters) as a "Best Answer." This sucks in those rare events you did not get your question answered satisfactorily and you want to leave a resolution for posterity.
so, are there differences between the posting limits (once per week) on ask.mefi and metafilter proper? In other words, once you've posted anywhere on the Mefi network, do you have to wait a week to post elsewhere, or is the posting limit unique to each area?
Also, it would be cool if "best answers" were tallied for each user, and posting frequency tied to it somehow. Or not. Please don't hurt me.
