When I'm logged out, the link
here works correctly (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=misN2jbpo1Y#t=1m05). When I'm logged in, the site has converted the hash to an ampersand (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=misN2jbpo1Y&t=1m05). I imagine this is a bug related to the inline YouTube player.

What do I need to do so that links in AskMeFi open in a new page, instead of taking me away from AskMeFi? Links on pages from other sites do.

When I preview my inchoate FPP, the link search informs me that my links were found in three previous threads, but only sometimes.

How about a filter that limits posts from having words over a certain length? Usually it's pasted URLs, and they always break the tables and require a manual cleanup.
For instance.

It's pretty minor, but an & in the post title turns into 'amp' in the url.
example.

Ponytime: I have a lot of favorited posts. If I want to find something from two years ago, I have to scroll through the whole list. Could the pages be numbered so I could go directly to Page 1? I apologise if this has been asked before, I didn't find any requests through the search engine.

The amazon link-rewriting thingie seems to strip out title="foo" attributes from <a> tags which link to amazon. Would it be possible to get it to leave the title attribute as-is? I would like to (manually) add a warning to amazon links, like title="(amazon link)" or similar.

In response to the inordinate number of doubles recently (
e.g.) which begin:
MeFite A:
Look! This is my link!
MeFite B: This is nice
MeFite A:
sorry, double, delete

The
Projects RSS feed has no way of directly clicking on the project URL. The
URL is the votes page; the title and URL are not included in the
. If this is unintended, I suggest one of the following: change the
to the project URL, and have a link to the votes page at the end of the
; or keep the
the same but repeat the title, with a link to the URL, at the start of the
.

The person posting
this today seems to have made similar mistakes in links as the person who posted
this five days ago. Just wondering if the mistakes can be identified and better avoided.

Facts On Farts was deleted within ten minutes of posting. In point of fact, the double post alluded to was all about turds. I checked it myself. Is there some sort of automatic feature that sniffs out identical URL's? Because this was in error, even though I was warned before posting that it looked like a duplicate (but wasn't). FWIW, the fart site actually was written to address a lot of things that any reasonable person might be curious about.

I keep a bookmark that ends in the spelled-out version of my username so that I can go to it and type out other users' names at the end if I don't know their user number. Tonight, going to it to find some other user's page, it took me to the page with the URL ending in my user number rather than the word "interrobang".
In the past couple of days, I've also "moused" over other people's names to see who they were--mainly in ask metafilter--and gotten the URL ending in the name spelled out rather than the number. Is this because the standard is soon going to be user pages with URLs ending in names, rather than numbers?

Very Small Pony: Matt, would it be possible to copy the code used for the URL search on the
Post A Link page onto the
Search page, so it could be accessed even if you have posted something within the past 24 hours?

Probably been mentioned before, but how hard would it be to link check on a post to ensure no double posting? You could even mock the poor soul!

Since yesterday, I've been unable to use the shortcut to post links in threads. The shortcut window pops up as usual, I paste in the URL, and hit OK. Then the window closes, but without having inserted any code into the text. (I'm using the same ol' IE5 as usual.)

I was just running a search on the word "pancake" (stop glaring at me, I was looking for the URL for the bunny!), and the first hit at the top of the list was the complete "Schizophrenics make the best web sites" front-page post. In fact, half the posts it pulled up are threads that have been yanked.
Including the one with the little bunny. So I still the URL to that too, plz, if anyone remembers it. Please, no kittens.

Anybody else noticing an extra trailing slash after http://metafilter.com? Only happens if you leave off the preceeding www's. Not a big deal, everything works fine, but it's a bit strange. Looks like url-rewwriting gone amuk?

I know this will start a paradox of "
I saw this before," but I think that it would be neat to have the preview option also do a search of the site to see if the link is referenced elsewhere. Now the question is, was this feature request made before?

The last week, I've been stymied by a mysterious bug that makes it impossible for me to see the front page of Metafilter in IE (5/Mac). (Yes, I've talked to Matt about it; yes, it's a mystery; no, I dont mind using another browser.) I'm working around the problem, at times when I don't want to use another browser, by linking to a particular thread page and then using the Newer and Older links to navigate. I never had much use for those links before, but now they're a godsend.
Anyway, what I wish I had was a link to the *newest* item. Not necessarily an addition to the Newer/Older interface, though that would be OK, maybe just a bookmarkable
www.metafilter.com/newest URL, which always points at the newest item. SITO (sito.org), which has a similarly dynamic structure, has a TOP link which takes you to the level that's currently being built.

Would it be possible to create a member list with URLs of the various MeFi junkies out there? I realize one can just click on the names, but I would love a way to just scroll through a list.
