[CW: linked thread contains graphic descriptions of assault.] First let me say this isn't meant as a callout, this isn't personal in any way. How do people feel about comments linking to the National Enquirer as a primary news source? In the Kevin Spacey thread, this comment links to a National Enquirer article claiming Charlie Sheen was one of Corey Haim's assaulters. I think we should have higher standards for news sources. (Bat Boy is fine!) There is support for it in the thread and it's not really a big deal to the mods, but I'm curious what the community thinks. (I know they occasionally break a real news story, but why is this story so urgent that we can't wait until a credible source reports this?)
Links followed by full URL: Anyone out there have a script or something they could share that does this? [more inside]
On the front page, the link that says "n comments" actually goes to the top of the post. For longer posts, especially on mobile, that can be a good ways away from the first comment. Can this link point to the first comment - or, since that might be deleted, to the byline at the end of the post? [more inside]
Very minor (probably) pony mod request: Can you stop pre-filling the comment editor's Link button prompt with "http://"? [more inside]
I'm not a huge voice on this site but I'm a regular visitor. I often read, and occasionally comment from my phone. It'd be nice if the URLs added in comments were auto linked, it would make it easier for both posters and readers. I understand that their can be ambiguity in URLs but maybe we could make some simplifying assumptions, such as anything matching http://(optional.)(whatever).(whatever) gets linked. I'll keep visiting either way.
When you post a FPP to the Blue, your links are automatically run through some sort of search function to see if they have been posted before. This might be, if not too site-intensive, a useful thing for comments as well, so that people don't find themselves posting the same links, with different flavor text. [more inside]
The Ctrl-U keyboard shortcut for making links doesn't work everywhere for me. I'd like it to. [more inside]
Tweeted by User Number One himself, a creation of Matt Round: Meta Mitchell & Webfilter, pairing a Mitchell & Webb sketch to almost any (every?) Metafilter post topic.
Is it really necessary to have more than one logout link when you are posting a comment or post? I refer to the Posting as: [username] (logout) right above the post textbox. More than once recently I have been aiming for the textbox with the mouse and clicked on the logout link by mistake. (Why anyone would actually want to log out of Metafilter is beyond me, but also fodder for a different post.) Seriously, once a page up at the top is enough, no? Logging out should be a deliberate act.

Rhomboid asked this question about a link on the blue which switched from liveleak to YouTube. I'm curious about this as well, and a little ... concerned? Anybody know what's up there?
Is there any way to make boldface/italics/links easier when posting comments from an iPhone? [more inside]
To people who have done this; why did you create Front Page Post(s) on MetaFilter? The motivations are interesting in themselves, and may also provide positive reasons for people to cross the rubicon from lurker to poster. [more inside]
Is linking to a site endorsement of a site? [more inside]
So, I made a post last week and now the main link (the only one above the "more inside") is broken. It's a youtube video that was apparently removed by the copyright holder. What is normally done in these situations? Do y'all summarily delete? Ignore? Is it at all possible (or even worth it) to re-work the post? [more inside]
Some links are failing on mobil devices. Please be careful when you post. [more inside]
Pony Request - is it possible to automatically fix broken URLs that omit the "http://"? [more inside]
Remember when someone made that quiz about MetaFilter members on that website where you can make quizes? Can I get that link again? Just the main site works too since that's what I really want.

Back in November of 2007 I came across jonson’s fpp about Geoff Manaugh’s blog post on a photographer named Shaun O’Boyle. I really liked the photographs, and sometimes my job allows me to develop a book. So I did. Kind of about that link. I asked Geoff Manaugh to write the intro to the book, and he said yes, and then he surprisingly cited an unrelated Metafilter comment in the essay he submitted. [more inside]

Long shot - looking for a (flash?) link that was posted a couple (several?) months ago in the blue. All I remember: inside. [more inside]

I'm looking for a sire mentioned on metailter or askmefi long ago. It was a site designed for people looking to build their vocabulary (or people who just like words). It allows a user to keep lists of words on the site and links to definitions. Users can also view lists created by other users. This seems like it would be relatively easy to find but I am striking out. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Thanks!
I'm looking for a link that I'm pretty sure I found on MeFi, but searches are failing me. It was an all Flash site with a series of videos and documents connected together as a sort of flowchart. Viewing each of these revealed portions of a mystery. Videos were displayed on a cube, with different camera angles on different sides of the cube. Anyone remember what I'm talking about? Thanks.
Why are there two places to click? Why does the "[more inside]" link point to the same place as the "XX comments" link? [more inside]
Idea: the Metafilter link-checker. Take the part of the 'new post' process that double-checks against prior posts, add the part of Mefi that conjures up the related posts, put a link to the feature up on the two lines of links near the logo. [more inside]
I think it was here that I came across a great webpage listing forum trolling techniques that read like an academic listing of informal logic fallacies. It had things like finding errors in small and irrelevant details, ad-hominem attacks, using provocative and loaded terms, shifting claims, concern trolling etc... I've looked for it several times recently and can't find it. Anybody remember the link?

I noticed Neatorama had another post from Metafilter on their site (previously), but then looked closely and noticed it wasn't Metafilter they were linking to. [more inside]
What do I need to do so that links in AskMeFi open in a new page, instead of taking me away from AskMeFi? Links on pages from other sites do.
Is there some behind-the-scenes Youtube link changing going on? (not that there's anything wrong with that) [more inside]
Anyone else see that Neatorama linked to the oval office desk post? Though they don't really give credit where credit is due. link [more inside]
Within the past few months someone posted a link to either a graph or (an article containing a graph) that showed that GDP calculated within a few months of the time period in question bears no relation (no statistical correlation) to GDP calculated with more complete non-estimated data two years down the line. I would like to find this graph. [more inside]

Is there a way to link to a comment only? For a blog, for instance. A bonus for certain comments who have over 100 favorites maybe.
