Where did the death threat go? February 13, 2006 7:57 PM   Subscribe

Hey Matt, what happened to Alumshubby's death threat email post to The Jesse Helms? It was here, it got closed, and then it disappeared. Did you uncover some info to lead you to believe it was fake, and you removed it to keep from besmirching alumshubby's good name? Cause if so, say something, cause he still seems like a death threat issuing prick otherwise.

Or did you delete it because both Alumshubby & The Jesse Helms turned out to be Pretty Generic in the greatest practical joke ever pulled?

That was a death threat? I thought it was a rant.
Definitely embarrassing.

Seemed like hyperbole to me. Also, seemed like there had been a larger email conversation happening. And also, why is an email argument fodder for MeTa? Also, why is an email argument a basis for a week's time-out?

Not that I really care. In fact, don't answer my questions because I don't care. I don't want to know.

May I be a little haughty here and state for the record that I had this same question but had the tact to ask Matt over email? I've been living with his style longer than you and have had plenty of complaints about it, but I still see the value in giving him some space to make executive decisions without being picked apart in public. Matt's always been pretty good about answering reasonable questions sent in email. I encourage the practice.

Well, I threaten to un-kill whoever he kills.. because MeTa and AskMeFi have helped me greatly today, so I owe the MeFi community a debt of gratitude.

I'm gonna un-kill some death-threated flamewar-induced murdered dude.. or something.. yeah.

I wondered if it turned out to be fake too.

what post is this? I feel pissed off I missed it. Is this a followup to alumshubby's lame callout of the "It's On." thread?

I agree. And I totally missed whatever the heck went on before it.

It kind of crosses a line to take private stuff public like emails, and then you have problems trusting that emails are real and stuff. It seemed like an ugly situation all around and best removed from the site.
