Bad news guys: see, ParisParamus's conservative voice here was really valued by the Bush Administration. So much so, that they decided to show their appreciation for his running interference for them, by rewarding Paris with a chance to meet and great some of the highest ranking members of the Administration.

Yes, that's right, Paris Paramus was invited to join Dick Cheney on a hunting trip. Unfortunately, well, mistakes were made.... So, yeah, I'm afraid ParisParamus won't be back anytime soon.

I wish ParisParamus would not come back. The alias is poison to all discussion. Even if he is completely reformed, it is unlikely that the behaviour of others toward him will change. There are many who will go out of their way to bait him.

PP's best option — and the one that I had assumed he'd chosen weeks ago — is to participate using an untainted alias. With a truly fresh start, he would have the best opportunity to become a positive contributor to the community.

Also, he's one of only four MeTa users to link to me, and Rothko is one of the others, so I fear all of my linkers might one day find themselves on enforced vacation. Don't link to me, people! It's just bad luck!

five fresh fish writes "There are many who will go out of their way to bait him."

No one has to bait him, he has the veracity of a rabid wolverine when it comes to derailing threads. It's really wierd too because if he's not derailing he can be a good contributor. I've often wondered if political Paris and nonpolitical Paris are two different people sharing the same account.

...I just posted this to remind everyone else that his time-out is almost over, lest those in charge forget to re-enable his account.

No, really... thank you so much! He's not here to stir up the pot, so he might as well have someone who he's in "regular contact" with preempt his return with a well-deserved announcement.

Without this I might have been confused and bewildered upon first encountering the bloated, rotten carcass of a thread he participated in. Now I'll be prepared to see the veritable mefi-highway littered with his roadkill once again.

No one has to bait him, he has the veracity of a rabid wolverine when it comes to derailing threads.

One hopes against hope that PP, on his return, will be reformed from that particularly destructive abuse of the MeFi community.

It will require people to not bait him, though, in addition to him choosing to not derail threads.

I do not hold any hope that he'll be any better this time around than he was the last.

And, yes, he is the user who boasted about how he was here solely to disrupt and destroy threads.

"It is very unfortunate that there are many hypocrites using this site. You know who you are." - Rothko

Sure, trolls are best kept under bridges and out of the public eye... but they have a certain paint peeling quality you have to... well, not admire... maybe marvel at.
