MeFite Printers? September 12, 2024 4:59 AM Subscribe
I feel like I've seen MeFites say they have a printshop, for yard signs, tee shirts, swag, etc. We may order signs (Harris Walz, Obviously) and I'm happy to support a member with a business and competitive pricing.
I had the nicest chat with someone in the lobby of the doctor's office the other day because she was wearing a Harris button. So hopefully someone is making buttons too, because getting a button and wearing it everywhere is a great inexpensive conversation starter if you want to meet random supporters in the wild and hype each other up.

(I'm not a Democrat and I'm way more anti-Trump than I am pro-Harris, but even I would consider buying and wearing a "Childless Cat Ladies for Harris" button if it had cute art.)

The "official" sign is $20, union printed, and the money goes to a PAC supporting the campaign. That seems hard to beat, to me. There are shirts and buttons and stuff too on the site.

I just bought a (not Harris but definitely political) shirt from the shop where DevilsRancher works.

Mrs. Example has a small screen-printing setup for shirts and such, but the timing isn't ideal... we're moving next month, so everything will be in disarray for a while.
Keep her in mind for further down the road, though. She really enjoys it and wants to make at least a decent sideline out of it.

I'm one that has popped in with responses to print shop questions before, but I'm retired and completely out of the game now. Were I still running a shop, I'd absolutely be cranking out Harris signs and merch!
Not MeFites AFAIK, but Signs of Justice is a Black-owned, family-run shop out of Portland, OR, producing Harris merch as well as a bunch of other progressive stuff.

If anyone in the US does small-run direct-to-garment printing, I’d love to discuss a non-political personal project with you.

I manage a wholesale custom screen printing shop, so if you need 50 or more t-shirts, or fine art poster prints, I’m your man, but we don’t have a business model for one-offs. We do have some merch up at industryprintshop.com and the owner is as progressive/liberal as me, so know that whatever we can afford to give, donate, discount for causes, it’s going to the right places.

I've heard the official store is behind on orders - it takes a while to get your swag. Especially for non-sign merch. They didn't have much lead time to get up and running. So, lots of folks are donating to the campaign directly, and then buying a cute button somewhere else.

This has been my experience - I ordered my yard sign August 10 (okay, they barely knew Walz was the guy), and I got a note that it was about to ship today, so I had already gotten some non-donation-based signs (along with my official Bob Casey - keeping it real in PA).
