I find that a lot of why I don't post as many FPPs as I used to is that I prefer to post them in the earlyish morning, although I might write them at other times, and in the afternoon I wind up going "well, I'll just submit it tomorrow." I also tend to get into spates of writing FPPs, and when I've just submitted one is (bar none) the time most likely for me to get excited and want to write another one. I would love the ability to be able to submit my FPP of the day before the 24-hour delay is up, so that it will be posted either at a time of my choosing or else when the 24-hour delay has ended. I think this would be something that would make posting FPPs easier, at least for me. Thoughts?
Currently for a limited period of time if a new comment(s) are posted to a thread you have open one gets a notification "Foo new comments, show". My understanding is this feature is time limited because it loads the server by regularly checking for new comments since the last displayed (hence the reason one sometimes sees the notice "0 new comments, show"). After the limited time period one gets the message "No recent updates. Reload to check for new comments". Here's the pony request: Would it be possible to have a link in the last statement that manually runs the new comment check code and then displays an appropriate message if new comments are found? Alright. So I saw FanFare Talk for the first time today. There seems to be a good reason for FanFare Talk, but seriously - it was a hunt to accidentally stumble upon a post from it, and then another hunt to go back and find that there were other FanFare Talk posts... [more inside]
On our user pages, the two numbers tracked for favorites count different things. The first one is a count of how many individual comments I have favorited. The second number is a count of how many times everyone has favorited a comment of mine. The description of that second number, "Favorited by others," is sort of misleading, I think, because it doesn't count individual comments the way the first number does. [more inside]
Would it be possible to have a link to the profile pages of the members in the chat room? Perhaps as an additional choice when you right-click their name from the list on the righthand sidebar? (alongside "ignore" and "private chat") [more inside]
A tiny Quonsmas pony for all! Could we get some sort of "Quonsed" option for the relationships list when we're adding contacts? [more inside]

Hello, pb! Big fan, first-time caller. I love being able to search through my favorites for half-remembered comments that I think are excellent, but often, one of the only significant pieces of information I can remember about comments is the person who posted them. Like, "I think I recall Spatch saying something funny about horses? Or was it camels?" Unfortunately, the search-through-favorites feature doesn't seem to catch commenters' names, only the comments' bodies. Is there a way the name of the commenter could be included in the search-through-favorites, or would that be a tremendous hassle to implement? I apologize if this has been requested before, and I thank you for your time!
We last discussed the edit window last September, after it was tried out in December '08. I was just curious what the current status of the feature was ... has any definite decision been made one way or the other whether it'll be rolled out, and if so, has a date been set?

I tried to gift a membership to a minor internet celebrity, but I got the message "It appears your friend already has an account, as this email address is in use". Really? That's cool -- now who is it? Can there be a way of entering in an address and getting a username back, so I can add that account to my contacts?
My first-ever pony request: In a given thread, what about a link next to each member's individual comments, that is titled "see all comments by this member in this thread." So, say, I want to see all of mathowie's comments in a particular thread, I click on that link and it gives me a page with just mathowie's comments in that thread. I know you can see all of a member's comments by going to their user page, but it's kind of cumbersome to click back and forth and you can't view all the comments together. It would be nice to have them all thrown up on one page. It would help us evaluate the position or argument that the person is developing throughout the thread.
Pony: at the end of the new "MetaFilter users near this user" query slap an "order by miles ascending". Not a big deal. I just want to stalk people in order, s'all. (That's a pretty damned sweet feature, btw).
The ability to mark a comment for another user's attention: any use?
Can we get another way to pay for accounts then paypal? I'd rather pay $20 for an account through another service then use them. There are several, relatively cheap credit card transaction services out there.
Could a "hide" button be added to the new sidebar in AskMe?
Could there be a feature that automatically posts the nude picture of the poster when a disparaging comment about anyone's physical appearance is made?
I'm a big fan of Safari. Any chance of Matt, or any other programmers here, creating a MeFi sidebar for this browser?
On the front page I sometimes mistake a thread with an empty line and then another link in the comment for two separate threads. I don't associate all of the text with a single post because the spacing is the same as it would be for two posts. It's a minor thing and I realize there was more to the comment when I view it, but what about adding a delimiter to make it easier to tell threads apart? Or am I the only one that makes this mistake?
How about a bookmark for the lovely 'powered by' bar? It'd make it even easier to point people to how cool it is.
Curious why posts go chronologically down the page and not up (most recent at top). At least as an option, this would seem a good idea.
So when's that feature gonna come to negate repeat links? There've been two posts today -- last page on net, Simpsons bootlegs -- that have been reruns of things we've seen within the last month.
