Hooray for Con Harrassment FPP Going Well!
Good news everyone!
The Reporting Harrassment at a Con post seems to be going well!
I don't know if it's a victory for good moderation (here, and at jscalzi's site), or if Things Actually Are Better (I hope it's both!), but for once on the internet, I am not filled with grar!
Good links martinWisse, good moderation, good community! Yay MeFi!
Thanks to Jessamyn et al.
I love Metafilter and the site continues to get more awesome, especially with the addition of the feature that shows the number of recent new and as yet invisible comments. I love Metafilter even when mods occasionally reject my questions as inappropriate. Thanks to all the admins; you're doing a great job. That is all.

Thanks for not posting about this!
I, for one, would like to congratulate the members of the MetaFilter pseudo-community for NOT posting a "Murdoch/Fox Cancels O.J. Show and Book" NewsFilter in the one hour since it was announced and officially warn anyone considering doing something like that it will not end well.
Metafilter uptime and performance has been excellent lately
Metafilter uptime and performance has been excellent lately; Pages load in an instant and I haven't seen a JRun error in weeks. Thanks Matt!
The blue is good lately!
Just a quick thumbs up to the MeFites - skimming the blue reveals a large number of posts that are, a. reasonably interesting and b. well supported with lots of links. I feel like Mefi has been consistently stronger of late, perhaps fallout from the 8/1 contest? Anyway, just wanted to spread some love.
I'd like to say thank you to jessamyn
I'd like to say thank you to jessamyn for her outstanding contributions to AskMe. She's contributed helpful and informative answers and links on a broad variety of questions, including some of mine, and raises the overall standard for answers.
Can a system be devised for users who've appreciated a post to click on an "I enjoyed this" button?
A lot of excellent, original posts, like this one from homunculus, get zero comments because users (I'm guessing) feel it's lame just to say "Thank you"; "Good post" or something equally trite, though sincere. My feeling is that outsiders, when they see 0 or 1 comment, erroneously judge that it reflects on the post and pass on. Which is a great pity.
Can't a simple system be devised whereby those users who've appreciated a post click on a "I enjoyed this" or "(this is good)" button, the result appearing much as the trackbacks do now?

We have been praised for 'strikingly literate commentary'
Metafilter spotting. I was slow to post this, thinking someone would ahve already picked it up.. while I like the props for 'strikingly literate commentary', the representative link is not *really* representative. (In my opinion)...
adding a new piece of information to a previously discussed topic
I think this is an excellent approach for adding a new piece of information to a previously discussed topic.
