Funny Hat Day

Some people seem down around here lately. Well, how about a funny hat day? It can really boost morale, I think. A Friday is probably best for this, as momentum will already be building for the weekend.

Kidding, really. I too have noticed a downturn in the Metamood. I don't know what the solution is, more flash fun? Boobies links? Vacations all around? Kids to go back to school?

Limecat is my desktop wallpaper right now. It has made everyone in my office giggle at least a little bit. Even the crabby ones. I vote for Limecat Hat Day.

I don't know about funny hat day, but today is Walk on Stilts Day and Take a Houseplant for a Walk Day (as well as National Korean War Veterans Armistice Day).

Walking home today, I noticed many people on the street wearing hats, including me... and I was suddenly struck by how large a subset of the hatwearers could quite easily be discerned as derelicts or crazy old ladies.

I'm not sure where I fit in: derelict or crazy old lady.

What I'm saying is "all hats are funny hats!"

When I was in high school, my friends bought me a beanie for my birthday. I still have the damn hat; whenever I felt socially awkward, I put on the hat and it made me feel cool again. In fact, I once wore it with a suit to a UN speech I attended. That certainly attracted some attention (of course, the suit was an off-white polyester blend, I wore black shoes, white socks, and I'm brown). Come to think of it, I don't know how I made it out of high school alive.
