I recall a Metafilter post within the last year or two. It was about wired.com creating a site so people could try to track down lost works, whether lost Dr Who episodes, Hitchcock films, etc. They had some successes early on, I think. I googled and couldn't find anything, which is odd. Does anyone remember the Mefi post or the wired site?

You know that one comment you read once, maybe about the kindergarten teacher who speciously reassures you, "I always put on a condom before I teach?" Maybe the all-time perfect Ask Me flowchart for reconciling your career decisions with your sexual kinks? [more inside]

I'm looking for a comment that I just can't find and want to read again. It detailed a version of Sex In The City as performed as a Beckett-like Black Box stage production. The women wailed a chorus of " THE SHOES" someone said " I fear I am not fecund". I have tried every permutation I could think of with no success. I'm 99% sure I read it here.

Did I hallucinate a Metafilter comment? I remember reading the line "Play him hither, Lute Cat" on Metafilter recently and though it was so hilarious I needed to illustrate it. I wanted to give credit to the original commenter, but I can't for the life of me find the comment. All my styles of google-fu have failed me. Did this comment actually exist?

Does anyone remember a post on the blue about teaching English in China, possibly including links to a news story ending with murder and a blog that involved a lot of gratuitous sex with students? It might have actually been deleted for involving too much luridness.

Coulda swore there was an AskMe about a site that would allow you to punch in a URL and see what the site looks likes on different browsers/platforms... but of course I can't find it. Anyone recall this or am I imagining it?

I'm looking for a comment (I think it was on AskMefi) that claimed that sweet potatoes and yams were the same thing. I think it was written by someone who used to work in a grocery store and stocked both from the same basket.

Quite a while ago there was a FPP that had a link to a website that listed the rates for hundreds of musical artists, plus their contact info or a link to their agent. As it turns out, a friend needs this to book an act. Does anyone remember this website?

Can someone help me find an AskMeFi post? I've spent ages searching and scouring the tags but can't find it. It may have been a year ago or so (not sure of exact date) but the question was about exercises for helping people get to know each other in a big new group - the context may have been a work conference. AskMeFi users suggested a lot of different techniques that a group organiser could employ to get strangers going together. Also if anyone could give advice on how best to find a tricky old post like this in future, please go right ahead.

I'm looking for one or more past AskMe threads in which people shared how weight-gain or weight-loss affected the way they were treated by other people. I know I've read these stories, but I'm just not finding them. It's possible that the they were shared in threads that weren't actually about obesity, but how others perceive us. Can somebody with better search skills help me?

I'm trying to find a specific post from who knows when where we talked about the labor practices described in this Palm Beach Post series
. Specifically, I remember someone talking about the orange juice companies, and how they either called or emailed them to find out if they did not support/use these practices from those they bought from. Did I imagine this? I can't find it anywhere. Does anyone recall this, or find it?

Looking for a video that was linked on AskMe or the Blue. It was probably AskMe because I believe the poster was asking for identification of the song. The video is mostly animated but features, as the main character, a Down's Syndrome man. It's very psychedelic and dreamlike. The highlight of the video to me was when the main character turns a cloud into a loaf of bread while driving down the road in a convertible. I've searched Google, AskMe and the Blue all to no avail. Please help!! Thanks.

I am having trouble finding a post to a cool web tool (java, maybe?) where you chose a parameter or some colors, then dragged your mouse around to make spline-y funky patterns. It seems it would have been especially useful to make cool mathy looking web backgrounds. I haven't the foggiest idea what search terms to even start with, and those I've tried have come up empty. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Help me find this AskMe post (what I remember): an American was thinking about traveling abroad, and was curious if, as an American, they would be unsafe/uncomfortable (in regard to foreigners' negative opinions of Americans, etc). I have been searching but to no avail. If anyone can point me in the right direction I would certainly appreciate it!

Can anyone find or remember the link to a gallery selling framed mathematical equations? All the obvious search terms are escaping me, making me think that the post referred to the link's content in an oblique way. The art was very simple, just the equations on a white background with a black frame. It could have been on AskMetafilter or Metafilter, I do not remember which. Thanks!

Jezztek: "I can seem to find a thread I was interested in re-reading using the search function, perhaps someone else has the link handy. I remember it was a story of prisoner abuse that came to light not too long ago, and one of the key features that suck in my mind was some mention of a chef, or cook that was permitted to beat a prisoner to let off some steam. I'd like to reread the details of the incident, if anyone could help."

There was a post on Ask Mefi a couple of days ago about professional/personal sites. I know it was posted after my "online portfolios" question because I was thinking of it while reading the thread. Please help me find an old (say, last 18 months) mefi thread: I don't remember what the thread itself was about, but within it, someone posted a link to a video of an accident a newscaster had while standing in a grape-crushing/wine-making vat on a stage. She falls, gets winded, and makes this weird gurgling noise. Almost immediately thereafter, someone posted a "remix" mp3 of the gurgling audio. I've rarely laughed so hard, but cannot think of the right key words to search for so I can share it with others.....
Also, I'm working under the assumption that since I'm asking a metafilter-specific question, that this is more apropos here than on ask.mefi. Please set me straight if I have that wrong.
