I would like to have a view that combines inbox and sent mail. This would be useful to provide a pseudo-threaded view of memail conversations. Thank you for your consideration.

So earlier this morning I posted something innocuous but inane in an askme thread that had been more or less answered. Just now, logging in, I see that that comment has been disappeared. This is fine, and not particularly worthy of complaint, but I find it sort of annoying that there's no notification or anyway for me to know that the reply was ever made at all. [more inside]

So ummm...
Yeah, I'm pretty sure the OP of the thread below me was asking in a VERY creative way:
Why is there a metafilter policy against telling others via postings what you received in MeMail?
Easy on the trigger, cortex. Just because you CAN delete and end threads, doesn't mean you should.

Quoting capabilities for MeFi mail? Yeah, I know, it's not meant to be a full-fledged mail client, but it's annoying when someone responds to something you said and you have to go back to your sent folder to remember what the heck it was.

One thing that annoys me about long MeMail conversations is the lack of threading; before services like GMail and Facebook, which thread messages, this wouldn't have been such a big deal, but anymore I find it kind of irritating to have to click through several pages to read old messages in a thread. So how's about some conversation threading in MeMail? [more inside]

Let's establish first of all that I'm a complete moron. Ok, with that out of the way, every great once in a while I've managed to find where to go to do metafilter mail. I'm never sure how I did it, and I can never seem to repeat it. I've just clicked about every link I could on my profile and contacts list and elsewhere, and can't access it. Now, since I'm, again, a moron, I'd never suggest that you place a clearer link to this feature. But can someone deign to give me a URL, a clue....something? Many thanks!

Don't post threads about posting MeMail in threads without the sender's explicit permission without an admin's explicit permission.

Don't post MeMail to a thread without the explicit permission of the sender. Like this.
This is so very no on so many levels.

This may be a stupid question; it may well have been discussed in the posts regarding the Metafilter messaging system, but they are legion and I am inebriated. But can we have a message sent to our inbox if someone adds us as a "contact"? [more inside]

MeFi Mail feature request: Under the Contacts tab you find the person's username as a link to their User page. I'd love to see that in the Inbox and Sent mail tab's use of the username, as well.

MeFi Mail Pony Request -- I often miss that I have new messages because the icon's so goshed darned tiny and doesn't call attention to itself in any way. Since I *rarely* get MeFiMails (no one likes me), can we get something like, say, a blink tag or a .wav that says "You've got Mail!" or something up there when we have new mail? [more inside]

I wish there was a web form that would allow a member to send an email to another member that is not showing their address. Require the sender to be logged in, and maybe even hold it until the sender responds to a confirmation email sent to their own registered address. The sender need never know the recipient's address (and vice versa). It would facilitate communication in general, and may even keep some matters off MetaTalk.
