So how's ColdFusion5, Matt? Curious because the last couple of days have been very slow, and I'm getting lots of timeouts.
Or is it that you've been in there tweaking stuff? Has there been another huge surge in traffic?

Web server services in the UK

I'd like to set-up my own web server (like in the previous thread) in the UK - does anyone know of any reasonably-priced services? Also, what equipment will I need? Can I use ColdFusion for a reasonable price or is it mega-expensive? (more inside)

Problem with passwords while posting a comment.

Password problems: When I hopped over to MeFi today, I found I wasn't automatically logged in any more. I don't know if that's a MeFi problem itself, as I've had all sorts of weirdness with IE lately on my end. I logged in, no problem. But then when I tried to post a response in a MetaTalk thread, my password wasn't automatically filled in like it usually is. I didn't even notice until I hit "post," at which time I got a yummy ColdFusion error.

Please make MeFi code available to CF users

My only request is that you make MetaFilter code available for Cold Fusion users to incorporate into our own sites. I run a site for a club and would love to have a mini-MetaFilter for our front page...

Why is the home page so slow to build?

Why is the home page so slow to build? When I go to http://metafilter.com, I have a 7-10 second wait before I start getting any data. Is it just Cold Fusion churning? Link detail pages come over after just a 1 or 2 second pause.

Open Source MetaFilter Code

Perhaps this isn't a "feature", but has there been any thought of open sourcing the metafilter, etc, code, similar to how Slashdot does it? Just curious.
