Help me find this article about the Sociology of Relocating

I'm remembering an article that unexpectedly resonated with me and I'm thinking it was posted 2011-2012ish . It was about the mutual loss when young people have to move away from a community to find work. IIRC, it wasn't about a specific location, and it talked about how difficult it is to rebuild support networks. Please hope me Metatalk !

Washington, DC meetup this Sunday (day after tomorrow)?! I'm going to DC for a job interview on Monday. I'll be staying with my brother in Mt. Pleasant (the job is in Reston). Come meet me and give me advice about whether or not I should move to DC. Sorry for the short notice, but I wasn't sure this was happening until recently.

haunting and moving comment, but offtopic

This comment had seemingly nothing at all to do with the FPP on which it was posted, yet I found it one of the most haunting and moving things I have ever read in MeFi.

Should I move to nowhere?

Not all webloggers or Mefis live in big cities. Some live in small towns, while others have moved from one to the other. I'm considering moving from the suburbs to a very small town in the middle of nowhere. I've taken care of the logisistics: telecommuting, finding a house and am already married. From those that have done it, what are the downsides? Upsides? Opinions of anyone who's done it would be very helpful.
