Good Saturday evening, MetaFilter – Euro Time Shift Edition! I'm filling in for Eyebrows to pose a topic suggested by holborne, who asks, "What are some memorable or funny (or both) interactions you've had with [non-threatening] strangers in public? Somewhere on Metafilter, there was a massive compilation of all the "I do X and my friend does Y, which one of us is correct?" posts, like about which way toilet paper rolls go, and sock-sock-shoe-shoe or sock-shoe-sock-shoe, or wiping while standing vs sitting. The contacts section allows us to indicate who we've actually met. Would the infodump be able to tell us who among us has met the most MeFites? I know it's dependent on people selecting the "met" box when listing a contact, but I'm curious about the number.
Looking for an online group for healthy living? A few of us are reviving the Metafilter team on the Spark People boards so if you're looking for a little support in your Spring health goals check it out. It's private so it's not searchable via Spark People's page. Use this link with the private team code to join. [more inside]
I'm stuck in Tokyo over the next 3 days, due to volcanic activity over Europe! It's an amazing city that I'm just getting to know. My main problem is that I'm eating alone. I'd like some company over dinner please? Any takers? Full details inside. [more inside]
