will there ever be an anonymous way to ask questions? October 10, 2004 7:24 PM   Subscribe

Stet's question reminds me: will there ever be an anonymous way to ask questions? I'm sure there are lots of people out there with things to ask that they don't want brought up when they're running for office...

In a past MeTa post Matt said he'd make something like that, but all anonymous questions would go through an approval queue to prevent abuse.

You'd still have to pay Matt off if you ever run for office though…

Jeebus, I thought I had my firstest MeTa callout. It's a good thing I'm on anti-depressants and recently laid or this would be more than I could handle.

Curiously, another forum I'm on (off-campus, grad school bitch forum) has just opened itself up to anonymous posting. I don't think it's all that important. Anyone to whom I'm willing to tell my screenname is someone I don't have a problem associating real life me with the posts.

And if I were actually worried about my future political viability, I wouldn't post anything controversial because anyone looking hard enough will find my tracks regardless.

But it would be kind of nice to ask an anonymous question once in a while.
