Last year, cortex went out of his way to
quantify our participation on MetaFilter. I asked if he'd be willing to do it again, and he agreed. So if you want to know how many words you've typed into MetaFilter instead of that dissertation/novel/revolutionary manifesto, now is the time and here is the place.

Ask MetaFilter is
six years old today-ish. The subsite that began without its own URL has grown into its own fully tagged, categorized (mostly) searchable archive of our little hive's collected wisdom. Just last month over 1900 users wrote questions and 5300 users gave answers.

So, ummm, last July I went to Portland for this "Metafilter anniversary gathering" thing, and I got Jessamyn to autograph one of those nifty teal Metafilter shirts. However, my life will not be complete until I somehow coerce the other admins to sign it as well. I'm just waiting for the proper venue. So, how about it? Next Thursday is the second anniversary of Sept 11th. The inundation is already starting both here and in all other media. Mayhap the anniversary will be a good time to talk about anything but (i.e. actively posting non-9/11 material)? Or am I being stone cold and inhuman?
