Sorry, but
this is a dumb deletion, IMHO. A lot of people like Newsfilter type stuff, and those are almost always the most interesting and longest threads. This is big news in the sports community, and the deletion reason is just silly.

I posted a question asking what tangible things I could do to improve the lives of people I love. Why was it deleted?

You tell me how to retrieve the HTML from a post that got deleted plz kthx? (I posted something on the front page last night, and it got deleted for too much personal commentary. I'm fine with that.) User Goofyy and deleting admin kaz suggested that I re-post sans commentary. This is moderation, it's not racism. So is there an easy way to get the HTML of my post back, or will I have to just re-type it all?

Can't for the life of me figure out why
this was deleted. Perhaps a less cryptic reason would help because this one was totally not obvious.

Hey, I just posted
something that was deleted because it was a double. I didn't know it was a double because the
original post that it doubled had a different link and keywords (I even searched,
nothing came up, wish I'd thought to search for just "iron"). However, it was an exact copy of
another double that
did match the URL and keywords
exactly. So, it seems to me, that when searching past posts in the "New Post" form, it should search through deleted posts as well, to avoid these "doubles of doubles" type situations.

Suggestion, not critical: perhaps a way to show that a post has been closed/deleted, in the style of the "X New Comments" update at the bottom of the thread?

Atlantis post vanished from the Blue? I'm running the Deleted Posts script, and I can see other deleted posts, but this one seems to have just disappeared.

I posted in
this thread that I thought he should respond with, "Yeah, that's fucking bullshit, huh?" Did that get deleted? Is there a no profanity rule on mefi that I don't know about, or did I violate some other rule?

I'd probably want to sweep
this booger-string of a deleted thread under the rug too if it was my site. But it's sort of sad to lose such a gold star collection of mefi members practicing the non-bigotry they preach, so if anyone lost a comment they're particularly proud of the deleting mod pretty much invited you to re-post it to the open thread
here.

I posted a FPP that was rightfully deleted, however out of it was coming some interesting details about the topic and I'd like to learn more. Can I rephrase it as an ask mefi or is that bad form?

I can see the favorites
this comment has, and it shows up in my side bar because it was made by a contact, but the comment has been deleted.

The faq says there are greasemonkey scripts that try to track deleted comments. Is there anything working? I couldn't find anything following the link. The deletions here are so regular it's like using the internet from China.

I recently had a MeFi post deleted. I know it will still show up in my Metafilter Recent Activity for a while, but once it goes from there, is there any way to track it and any deleted posts from my past?

So when did
lofi stop showing deleted posts? Is this a new feature or a temporary bug?

I can haz pony filter: Some sort of live marker of deleted posts, perhaps in live preview, would be really nice.

Mass deletions?
79140,
79144,
79147 and
79149 are all showing as having been deleted but none of them are closed for comments or given a reason for closure. Is my Greasemonkey broken or is your Blue broken?

Although cortex callously and without hesitation deleted my fabulous single link youtube front page post, I still see it, albeit with a re: sidebar.
Is this a feature?

Disabled accounts show up in "nearby users." I clicked on
this profile and then had to click on
this username (because, WTF? Was santorum taken?). Well, to make matters slightly weirder, a
search for santorum brings up the username and the user's "real" name, though it's no longer visible in the profile.

It's an interesting story in its own right. Its surface correspondence to the Palin rumors makes for a a good 'hook', which I used, but I don't think that makes the possible solving of a 260-year old mystery less interesting or worth reading about. The coincidence is amusing, but the post doesn't rest on that, and if anything it makes the post more fun. And it certainly doesn't belong in the existing Palin thread.

Re: the Bristol Palin pregnancy thread being deleted - uh, the other post in which it is being "discussed" is sort of inaccessible.

Greetings from a neophyte mefite. I was wondering: is there a way to get versions of the RSS feeds which don't include front-page posts that have already been deleted? If not, it's a feature suggestion, so please discuss. Apologies if I'm being dumb and this is simply not possible using RSS.
(For a while I enjoyed the "guess if this post has been deleted" game, but it's getting old...)
