Is there any sort of script or add-on that will allow me to bookmark my place in long threads, so I can go back to exactly where I was? I use Firefox and have Greasemonkey.
Recently active pony: Is there a way to see recent activity since specific, non-self comments? Or some other way to bookmark threads? [more inside]
I wanted a quick-and-dirty bookmark to MeFi in my Chrome Web Apps menu. Here's how you can do it. [more inside]
RFP (Request For Pony): A way to bookmark a specific location in a thread, so that the number of comments from that point onward (rather than from my last comment) shows up in my Recent Activity. [more inside]
I use comment time stamps as bookmarks on a thread to return to that spot, but they're not working like they used to. [more inside]
A few days ago there was an AskMe looking for music recommendations. Someone posted a link in it I wanted to bookmark later, but now I can't find it. Did it get deleted or am I just searching for the wrong tags (tried music and mp3)?
Is it no longer acceptable to leave a comment with simply a period - "." - in a thread so you can keep track of it via your profile page? I still see it happen in the blue but don't see it often in the green, and it now seems one of my comments like that was just deleted in the green... I don't want to piss on anyone here about that, just trying to figure out if it is cool to do it or not.
I have no idea if this is something other people would want or if it would be easy enough to do...
Ask MetaFilter has been a fantastic part of my life, and I look forward to growing old with it by my side. Of course it will mature, and I'm sure that it will never be anything less than an elegant jem. However, I sincerely hope that, no matter what, there will be a way to view it exactly as it is now. Also, we've taken countless bookmarks together, I hope those will always be in the same place so that I can look back on the memories.
Why does the LINK tag with rel="bookmark" on MetaFilter pages(even the front page) point to MetaTalk, rather than the pages themselves?
How about a bookmark for the lovely 'powered by' bar? It'd make it even easier to point people to how cool it is.
