There's been a few discussions here regarding MeFite project collaborations, and a placeholder Wiki listing page came out of it. It hadn't been active since, so I decided to add on to it to put it in line with the music collaboration listing, and create some awareness/discussion for it here. I'm guessing this could be useful for media such as art, writing, video, and podcasting.
Oh noes! The automatically generated youtube channel for metafilter videos doesn't seem to be working anymore... [more inside]
This month's podcast was recorded on October 7th and runs about an hour and forty minutes long, covering most of September's best posts, projects, and questions from the site. [more inside]
What's the deal with Projects and crowdfunding? [more inside]
The Oracle of MeFi is a curated tumblr of "intelligent, insightful, funny or otherwise interesting comments from all over MeFi," created by Foci of Analysis. Via Projects. [more inside]
I've looked at the Projects section maybe once or twice during my time in the Metaverse; am I missing out on anything solid these days?
Could the duplicated link/tag search for FPPs also include Projects? [more inside]
Clarification about Projects (not on the FAQ): do projects need an external URL? [more inside]
I'm in the very early stages of developing a web app. Its not close to being ready for MeFi projects, imo, but I'd love to get some MeFite feedback on what I have so far! What is the proper channel for something like this?
I'm fairly certain that Matt has to approve posts in the Projects section, so I'm unsure of how this post made the cut. The user has only one other contribution from earlier today and it's related to the site he's pushing.
So what does a guy have to do to get a listening room rockin' around here? I'd like to revive memebake's listening room for MeFites if anyone else is interested. [more inside]
Jezztek's wonderful Monsters of Grok site in Projects got posted to the front page but not via the "post this to mefi" button. Is there a way to get it marked as such anyway? [more inside]
I was wondering if the powers that be had given any thought recently to perhaps raising the admission price for Projects. (You know, now that Metafilter rules Google and all...) [more inside]
Is there a place to post non-web projects that we have been working on somewhere in MeFi? [more inside]
When I try to post something directly from Projects it doesn't work. I click on the 'Preview' or 'Post' buttons the page loads, it says 'Waiting for Metafilter' and 'Waiting for Google Analytics' on the bottom, and than nothing happens. I'm using the latest version of Firefox.
So, back in January, a bunch of us hung out in Listening Room and it was groovy but the unilateral 'remove' option caused quite some graar. This led to some of us thinking about rolling our own versions ... [more inside]
Post-Apocalypse Dead Letter Office first appeared in Projects, but now you can find it on Amazon. Congrats to cog_nate on his first novel!
Kickstarter recently started a "Curated Pages" feature where organizations and sites can show off member projects (here's the Creative Commons one for an example). They recently put me in charge of a "MetaFilter" curated projects page and I know I've seen dozens of mefites fund projects on Kickstarter in the past, but if anyone is currently running a project there, let me know and I'll add you to our page and share the URL when we have a few projects listed. [more inside]
A tiny pony request for Projects: could there be an indication on the Projects page when a project has been posted to MeFi? I know the detail page has a "This project was posted to MetaFilter by..." but unless you wish to comment, you'll never see it. [more inside]
So did butterstick and cortex et al ever get around to giving us their Dark Horse Aliens comic book summaries, as promised in this thread and specifically here, here, here, here and here? [more inside]
Just featured on All Things Considered it's mefi's own: jedicus and valkyryn and their blog: The Law and the Multiverse. Previously discussed here and here. And this all started over here at mefi projects. [more inside]
This was mentioned in the comments section of a metatalk thread about Listening Room, but our very own Narwhal Bacon has released the source for a (far superior, imo) clone of it called Collaborative Jukebox. There is a room open right now for mefites at MixParty.org [more inside]
yourcelf's snazzy new GraphFi bookmarklet makes catching up with long threads a breeze. [more inside]
Did I miss something? Kickstarter solicitations are not approved by No. 1 in Projects, but posting someone else's Kickstarter idea in the blue is OK? Even the protagonist of the project seems to be surprised. [more inside]
I'm somewhat new to metafilter, and am working on something that I would like to post to projects, but don't want to do so prematurely. [more inside]
Duck request (because horses scare me). Some sort of indication on the main projects page telling me if a project was posted to the blue. [more inside]
Aren't projects for something that you've done and not a way to show off someone else's stuff? [more inside]
Lute Cat (not to be confused with Zither Cat) began life as a deletion reason on the blue, was briefly batted about on the grey, was then auctioned off for charity, and is now residing in Projects, ready to be purchased and taken home. Oh won't you love him, Mefi.
Could there be a Project Help sub-sub-site? I envision something akin to Music Talk where folks can post their Kickstarter campaigns, requests for collaboration, brainstorm sessions, etc. [more inside]
In the Post to Projects screen, it warns: "...so please try to keep it limited to launching new projects and please don't use the space to link to a blog entry or an essay you wrote." [more inside]
It seems like Projects should have tags. We could then see a list of "similar things MeFites work on." Is this something being worked on? If not, how come? Just curious.
There seems to be a minor cosmetic bug in the Recent Favorites list. [more inside]
So the first MeFi Projects post was four and a half years ago. Isn't it time to change this copy? [more inside]
Repost to projects? Kosher? [more inside]
Requesting a pony that might already exist: A way to see pending MefiProjects posts? [more inside]
A bug in Projects: clicking on the usernames in someone's vote history leads to a 404 every time.
I can't post a comment to Projects. OSX 10.5.7 Safari 4.0.1 and Firefox 188.8.131.52. The comment previews okay but after hitting post it returns an empty text input box and no comment is posted.
Projects pony: email notification when project is posted to the blue. [more inside]
MeFi Projects Question: Can I post links to some subsites I've created on reddit? [more inside]
Hi, Metafilter. I posted a project in Projects. It has somehow shown up on the Projects page three times -- one, two, three. Not sure if I did this or if some other error occurred.
I'm trying to get feedback/helpers on a collaborative Google Map of bike paths in the Boston area. It's pretty small and unambitious, hardly something I've spent "a few months" on. Is this appropriate for MeFi Projects? [more inside]
Why does Projects sometimes display the same day twice? [more inside]
Does Projects work for everything that would be a self-link on MeFi? Or is there a hinterland of things created by friends, relatives and other loved ones that are too self-linky for FPPing, but aren't yours and so can't go in Projects? Are things which fall into this hinterland doomed to fall softly onto the forest floor of the internet, unheard and unseen? [more inside]
Is it okay to post event-like things to Projects? [more inside]
The vote counts seem to be off on the Mefi Projects Archive page.
I posted a personal project to mefi projects about a year ago. Ive made a few (fairly significant) improvements since. Appropriate to post it again, or abuse? [more inside]
Can I use Projects to help with a non-web, ultimately personal, project? [more inside]
My post, Project Censored as censors? was, ironically, deleted for reasons which have nothing to do with the posting guidelines. I complained and was asked to raise it here. [more inside]
