New Posts / Bottom of Page Navigation UI
I ran into these UI/UX issues in the politics megathreads, and am frustrated by them again in the coronavirus threads. Can any of these be improved? [more inside]
Viewing "activity" that hasn't been active in a while
tl;dr: is there anywhere i can see every post I've ever "added to activity", or does the record of such posts get deleted at some point? [more inside]
EpiMetaFilter view pony
Could there be a view of all of the posts across all of the sites, MetaFilter, AskMetaFilter, MetaTalk, FanFare, FanFareTalk (???), Projects, IRL, etc.? I love the unique feel of the different sites, but I would love one place to see the flow of activity. Maybe CircuMetaFilter? Would this have a homogenizing effect? Impossible in Cold Fusion? Already attempted and failed miserably?
Redundancies in navigation
There are currently some links on the front page menus that seem a bit redundant. [more inside]
Pony req: to open thread
Pony request:
Currently, j/k navigate from one post to the next. Could <enter> be bound to open the selected post? [more inside]
A navigation oddity
Small oddity on in-thread navigation: when I click on the timestamp of a comment, it goes to the top of the screen but with some buffer above it. When I use "." and "," to navigate through the page (or "j" and "k"), there is no buffer. More oddly, clicking the timestamp then using "." actually takes me to the same post, just removing the buffer. Am I the only one having this issue navigating? [more inside]
Previous and Next Links While Browsing by Tag
When browsings by tag the only page nav links are numbers which takes careful aim to hit on a Nexus 7. "Previous" and "Next" links would greatly ease finger-based navigation.
Moving the "Older" and "Newer" navigation bar to the top?
Possible pony: Moving the "Older" and "Newer" navigation bar to the top? [more inside]
MeFi Music navigation issue
MeFi Music Problem? [more inside]
Moving about in the text boxes in an iphone4
I can't move around inside the text boxes on any of the sites.
I'm on an iphone4 that has whatever version if Safari that Apple blessed me with. [more inside]
Ho ho ho.
Christmas Pony Request: Can we have j/k navigation on tags/search results? [more inside]
Associated Sites list in footer?
Hey, how about a tiny little list of bulleted "Associated Sites" at the bottom of the page? [more inside]
Favorite Navigation
These two pages have pagination at the bottom. These three pages do not. Can we have the same ability to navigate into the past of "favorited by others" as we do for "favorites from," or would that be a huge pain in the ass?
Customizing or disabling nav keys
So, the j and k keys can be used to jump between posts or comments, which is neat, except I already have those keys bound to scroll down and scroll up in my browser. Would it be possible to let users customize or disable nav keys, or do I just need to User JS it?
jump dates categories direct
Is it possible to jump to posts based on a specific date? [more inside]
Three ways to get to San José?
Is there any functional difference between Recent Activity, My Comments (tab) and My Comments (link at bottom of page)? [more inside]
Can I get you to enjoy this without complaining about navigation?
I very much want to post the collection of comic valentines found here to the blue, but I'm worried the site navigation is so convoluted that the thread will be nothing but complaints about it. Can this post be saved?
next page doesn't show next
the next page link at the bottom of the saved as favorites by other members page just keeps displaying the same 30 comments.
Is this Best Posts link for August supposed to be there?
Does the Best Posts for August 2006 page still deserve a link in the navigation atop every blue page?
There aren't any older questions
When you're looking through ask.metafilter posts using tags, the "« Older questions" link always appears on the bottom of the page -- even when you're on the page with the oldest questions. Click it, and you'll get a new URL with all the same old questions.

Navigational links that go back/forward one day
Navigational links that go back/forward one day on the "1, 2, 3, 4, 5 years ago." pages would be fun!
And maybe add a 6 years ago link to the sidebar?

Want to see something cool?
Want to see something cool? Hit the . key on any mefi front page or comment page. Hit the , key to go up a post/comment. And don't worry, once you click into a textarea or input, it turns itself off (we couldn't ever lose the . could we?). Thanks to the hard work of delfuego for making this happen.
projects page-switching navigation runs the opposite direction
Nitpicky: projects.metafilter's page-switching navigation runs the opposite direction from the other three sites'.
Navigation Question
Anyone else confused by the and links at the bottom? On the Blue, next points to the right, but goes back to the older threads, yet next, for most reading, implies the opposite. And previous page points left, which makes sense, but it goes to the newer threads, which doesn't make sense. The confusion arises in part because we read Metafilter from new to old. To make it more confusing, on AskMe the previous questions link goes to the older questions, which is opposite to the Blue, where right and next mean back in time. Did I get that right?
A simple, parallel solution would be to simply have older and newer, with older pointing left, and newer pointing right for all.

Is there a way to jump from one comment to the next using my keyboard?
Is there a way to jump from one comment (anchor) to the next using my keyboard? I like a feature in Bloglines where you can simply press "j" to go to the next article in a feed ("k" goes to the previous article). It would be nice if we had a navigation system similar to this going from comment to comment for MeFi/AskMe/MeTa threads.
Font preferences vs headers
In preferences, my font preference is set to Times New Roman. With the new headers in MeFi and MeTa I see the site nav links in a sans serif typeface, as I'd expect, but in AskMe the site nav links appear to be in Times New Roman. Somewhere there's an inconsistency. I'm guessing AskMe is incorrectly using my font preference for its site nav links in the header.
navigation design requests
It'd be... nice... if the Preferences nav line was not bolded and the Home nav line was bolded. Also, no access keys?
Pony: Google Sitemaps addition to MeFi
Request: Google Sitemaps for MetaFilter to improve search quality.
It totally doesn't work
So, uh, when you check through your old Ask.Me threads that you've posted in, and use the numbers at the bottom to skip pages (or the "Next" link)? It totally doesn't work (perhaps the offset variable is broken?). Firefox and IE. Just FYI.
I can only view the most recent page of questions in archives
When I try to view the askme archives by category, I can only view the most recent page of questions in that category. Is this just me being mentally challenged?
New feature: page through MetaTalk
New Feature: you can page through MetaTalk with the links at the bottom of the page, and the new comment counts should continue to function in older pages. Much simpler and easier than digging through archives and if this works as expected for most everyone, it will also be applied at Ask MeFi and MeFi
Linking to AskMe from MeFi
Hey, why is there no link to askmetafilter on 'the blue' as you metatalk hipsters call the main page? You have to click metatalk and then click askme. FIX IT
Have you considered a 'Back to Top' feature?
Have you considered a 'Back to Top' feature? Would be useful for those long threads where one needs to re-examine the original post....
Airing dirty linen in public
Given that MeTa is mostly used for private discussions about what goes on in MeFi, should there be links to it on the front page of MeFi for all to see? Would it be more appropriate for it to be discreetly linked from somewhere else or, to take it to the extreme, only available to logged-in users?
Airing dirty linen in public is not usually considered the "done thing" and hiding it from public scrutiny may allow more open and honest discussions.

navigating 'back' or 'forward', directed to the 'Third Birthday' page
Using IE5.0, navigating 'back' or 'forward' to homepage results in being directed to the 'Third Birthday' page. Crazy frustrating. Am I the only one?
"Older"/"Newer" links at the top of the page
I would just LOVE it if the "Older"/"Newer" links were up at the top of the page as well (in a fixed location). That way I could easily to the next thread without having to scroll down or go Back...
