What does flagging as fantastic mean?
I had thought that flagging a comment as fantastic means "this is a bad comment, within the realm of fantasy, and should be removed."
But I notice others apparently using this flag to mean "this is a good comment, kudos!"
So which is it? And if the latter, what does flagging a comment as good accomplish?
Why does this page display correctly even though the hack has been fixed
I found this page via the wiki, and wondered why it still displays correctly? Amazing to see it being tested and fixed in one page!
I would like an ELI5 as well as a more technical explanation. Although this doesn't technically require community input I do feel it deserves to be seen (again in some people's cases.)

"The TARDIS is in the shop, so I thought I'd swing by."
I can't do it in the thread, so I'd like to thank MeFi's Own (Apparent) Time Traveler Jane the Brown for her fascinating examples of bygone behavior in this AskMe.
Fantastic commenters will never know they're fantastic
I'm seeing a lot of great comments on the blue lately; I mark them as favorites, of course, but sometimes I flag them as "Fantastic". However, the commenter doesn't receive this feedback. [more inside]

Another week of Mefites' Choice Awards, another bunch of fantastic posts flagged by mefites as, uh, fantastic? Phrasing's a bit clumsy, let's take take that again from the top and see if—what do you mean we're live? We're, ah—yes! Welcome to week two, come inside! [more inside]

Wave the Flag
Is there any way for users to see which posts and comments have been flagged as 'Fantastic'? That would be nice.
Sidebar Drought
There hasn't been a sidebar post of a non-administrative nature in over a month. Are we flagging fewer posts? Are the moderators occupied with something more urgent? Is the sidebar deprecated in favor of the best-of blog? Has the content quality gone down? Something else? I look at the sidebar regularly and would appreciate seeing new content there.

Fly your favorite flag
If I flag a comment, I can choose one of several default options. One of the options is "fantastic comment", and the others are terrible. Why can't I choose "fantastic" when I favorite a comment? [more inside]

I'd love to know what others think is fantastic.
Pony request. Could we have a page view that would show threads and comments that have been flagged as "fantastic"? [more inside]
That psychedelic elephant is FANTASTIC!
The 'fantastic' flag: I know it's been called "outdated", and people have asked for it to be removed. Who cares about that! I would really like to know how many people use it, how it is used, and how the mods react to it being used. [more inside]

Just wanted to call your attention to this comment by Astro Zombie. I can only favorite once and flag it once.
fantastical
Ok. How many of you mefites used to think "fantastic post/comment" was for use on off-the-wall comments? [more inside]
Don't need no fantastic flag
Suggestion: get rid of the 'fantastic post/comment' flag, and replace it wholeheartedly by the favoriting engine. In particular, recode the fantastic questions and answers page to pull the most favorited Qs and As, rather than the most flagged. For a brief interval there, that page was the best way to see the best of AskMeFi, but its usefulness is fading as people move to faving things rather than flagging them. Also, it would be super-ultra-mega-cool to have an analog of that page for the blue.
I would like to have the option of flagging posts "hilarious."
Flag feature | In addition to "fantastic post" I would like to have the option of flagging posts "hilarious."
Please give Robocop is Bleeding the $30 for today.
Have Favorites made the "Fantastic" flag obsolete?
With the advent of the Favorites feature, has the 'fantastic post' flag been made obsolete? For instance, this question was only given two fantastics, but is a favorite of 32 users. This pattern is exhibited in nearly every question on the fantastic questions page. Are people no longer flagging posts as fantastic? Should these two features be combined, or one be eliminated?
Indicating fantastic questions and answers
Idea: how about indicating fantastic questions and answers in the same way as best answers? [more inside]
I did NOT flag that as fantastic.
The Fantastic AskMe posts page appears to claim that I flagged this now deceased thread as a fantastic post. I'm pretty sure I didn't, and flagged it for some other reason so that it could be deleted.
Is anyone else on the list thinking that they didn't flag that one as fantastic?

Add a fantastic flag scoreboard to profiles
Idea: Add links to a person's fantastic posts/comments/answers to their profile pages, as a kind of personal scoreboard.
Been wondering how to give people "attaboys" for good commentary and answers. Why not list these accomplishments on their profile pages? I did some searches, and the idea has been proposed before, but I can't find a similar suggestion that's more recent than four years ago.
Profiles already have links to a person's posts, and if I drill down I can see which ones have been flagged as fantastic -- so why not put this front and center on the profiles?

"Reader's Digest" version now "Greatest Hits"
Matt, while I quite like the new layout of the "fantastic posts/answers" page for AskMe, some of the old functionality has been lost. It used to be that when I was pressed for time, I'd come and see what questions/answers had been recently flagged. This gave me the "reader's digest" version of AskMe. Now, though, all I see is the "greatest hits". There's no way to see what's bubbling to the top, only what's already there. Anyway to combine the two somehow?
What is the purpose of flagging answers as "fantastic"?
I just flagged an AskMe answer as "fantastic" for the first time, and I'm curious...and then what happens? What is the purpose of this feature?
Pony Request: Highlight 'fantastic comment' flagged posts like AskMe's 'best answers'
It's possible for an AskMeFi poster to mark responses as best answers. It's possible for anyone to flag an answer as a fantastic comment. Why not amalgamate the two and have all the top answers in one place? Then, why not highlight all comments flagged as fantastic in AskMeFi, MetaFilter and MetaTalk the way best answers are currently highlighted in AskMeFi?
"fantastic post" page unreadable
The last 50 questions and answered [answers, surely] marked as "fantastic post" by other members at Ask MetaFilter page is all but unreadable. Both lists need the short form of the question at the very least in order to add context.
I probably shouldn't be able to mark my own comments as fantastic.

Could we have the threads/comments we've flagged as "fantastic" somehow noted on our profile pages?

page to view fantastic posts/comments?
To my knowledge, posts/comments flagged 'fantastic' only seem to decide towards sidebar announcement. How about a page where all posts flagged as such are listed? [+]
