Is it time to update the "About" section of the Profile pages?
What's the deal with your nickname? How did you get it? If your nickname is self-explanatory, then tell everyone when you first started using the internet, and what was the first thing that made you say "wow, this isn't just a place for freaks after all?" Was it a website? Was it an email from a long-lost friend? Go on, spill it.
Certainly we oldsters can remember the advent of the internet, and there was a time when we may have thought it was for freaks. But for many you may as well ask "When did you first use electricity?"

This is just a PSA to remind you that we use the email you have attached to your account to answer contact emails from you (unless you change it manually in the email field on the contact page), and sometimes to get in touch with you if there is a problem with a post or comment, so please make sure that it is a working address. You can change or update your email in your profile preferences under "Contact Preferences," as well as choose whether you want it to be visible to other users, and if you want Mefi mail forwarded to your email.

The LibraryThing widget is pulling random books from your LibraryThing account. Since Twitter and Last.fm and many of the others seem to default to most recent, it seems like the LibraryThing widget should pull your most recent books too, just to be consistent.

I like to know things. I like to know things about people. I especially like to know things about people who I interact with online. It bums me right out that it seems so few newer members take the time, or wish to, fill out anything in their profile. Is there any way to encourage this?

The settings in Edit Profile open to how they were set on the computer where they were last saved, not what they are set to for on the computer you're currently using.

Minor pony/bug relating to profile-page links to facebook. I'm on facebook but I don't have one of those fancy-dancy no-longer-so-new fb-specific usernames; my fb page is still index.php?profile=number. If I enter that on my user page as my facebook "name", the link doesn't work—the punctuation is encoded.

Entering your location (lat/long) in your profile gives a street address in Google Maps when you click on the icon. This seems to be new, and fairly accurate. My guess is that some people do not want others to see this and will want to obfuscate their location.

Just the curiosity of a self-obsessed "Favorited by others" watcher: I've noticed, on a couple occasions, my 'favorited by others' number will drop by a couple digits. Not a lot; I think the last time it was from 95 to 93 or something. I'm not favorited often, and I don't think I've had any posts deleted recently, so I find it odd. Can somebody "anti-favorite" you, or are things being deleted in older stuff than I've noticed?

We can browse users' favorited posts/comments via their profile pages pretty easily. So, I'd like the same functionality when it comes to "best answers": ability to click on the number of "best answers" given to a user, and see which of their answers have been marked as such. I figure something as obvious as this would have been built in by now, so why ain't this pony prancing?
