I was experimenting with Google's search suggestions feature when I noticed that it gave some interesting results for "metafilter + [letter]". Did I hallucinate a Metafilter comment? I remember reading the line "Play him hither, Lute Cat" on Metafilter recently and though it was so hilarious I needed to illustrate it. I wanted to give credit to the original commenter, but I can't for the life of me find the comment. All my styles of google-fu have failed me. Did this comment actually exist?

RSS feeds in Google searches
The new RSS feeds (which are wonderful) are starting to show up in Google searches. I doubt this is what anyone wants. I would suggest that they be disallowed in robots.txt, or set NOINDEX, NOFOLLOW.
How do they do that?
A few hours ago I posted a question at ask.metafilter.com. An hour later nobody's answered so I resume my Googling for an answer. Number three in the list of results is my very question! And it's on a different site! I'm shocked Google updates its index so fast, but, more than that, why is my question on a different site?

DNS wildcard and google crawler
It's possible that DNS wildcards on metafilter.com are causing problems for the Google crawler. I suggest deleting the redundant DNS entries, and using a 301 redirect for http://metafilter.com/ to go to http://www.metafilter.com/

Ever since MeFi's search feature went away and it now lets you search google or yahoo, I'm having trouble finding past posts I'm looking for. Right now I'm looking for a post from within the last month or so where you could enter a URL into this website and it would give you a bunch of feedback on how good/bad it was, etc..

Given that Metafilter is growing in leaps and bounds, e-networking in subcommunities of shared interests seems like a good idea, so I figured I'd start the avalanche.
