How supportive/critical to be in MeFi Music/Projects commentary?
To be clear, I don't plan on eviscerating anyone, but I do wonder if there's an existing "if you don't have anything good to say..." status quo. I've never been active in either, and don't have a feel for it. Personally I *hate* having my work presented in an insincere critical environment, and prefer to both give and receive "something good/something bad" style comments. I'm particularly concerned about MeFi Music, because 1) I've experienced sensitivity re: my own music 2) It's music! It's arbitrary!
...but you hold back development by having people blow smoke up your soundhole.
Permission to brag
As we all limit human contact to help contain the pandemic, nearly all of us have hobbies and abilities lying fallow or getting very limited use. But, those in this position probably have great past work which will be new to people here and will generate the same sort of delight and interest as much of what's on MeFi. COVID-19, Domestic Edition
Lately I've seen many a fine recipe, sewing pattern and/or general quarantine project idea gracing various COVID threads on the blue, green, and grey. I thought it would be nice to have someplace central to store and chat about that sort of thing. So, are you doing something amazing or hilarious or at least vaguely interesting with your home-bound time? Building something new, cooking or baking something awesome (or at least awesomely terrible?) Reading or watching something that makes you happy?

Updating the MeFi Projects subsite guidelines
Hey, so, MetaFilter Projects! It's one of my favorite parts of the site, where members can post and share their personal creative work. And we've done a little work to update the posting guidelines there, to try and make it a little more clear and generous about what's a good fit. Come on in for details! [more inside]

It would be a complement to Jobs and Projects - a place for Mefites to post ideas that they, personally, are not going to use, and thus make them freely available for other creative and talented Mefites to run with. [more inside]
Remove voting from MeFi Projects

Blue posts for deep sea green posts should link to deep sea green posts
On August 27, avoision made a self-post on the deep sea green about his Villanelle Bot.
On August 30, oakroom made a post about the Vinalle Bot on the blue, but didn’t go through projects when posting the link. Because of this, there’s no “official” indication that the two are linked: no highlighting on Projects, no little link to the project at the end of the FPP.
I think if a mod discovers the link post-facto or if a mefite tells the mod about the link, they should add these formal connections. It seems like good style, and a good way to increase attention for community members doing cool things. [more inside]

I just realized that MeFi project threads never close. Is that intentional? Why aren't other threads like that?
A Mefi place for project collaborations
There's been a few discussions here regarding MeFite project collaborations, and a placeholder Wiki listing page came out of it. It hadn't been active since, so I decided to add on to it to put it in line with the music collaboration listing, and create some awareness/discussion for it here. I'm guessing this could be useful for media such as art, writing, video, and podcasting.

Problem With Projects
When I try to post something directly from Projects it doesn't work. I click on the 'Preview' or 'Post' buttons the page loads, it says 'Waiting for Metafilter' and 'Waiting for Google Analytics' on the bottom, and than nothing happens. I'm using the latest version of Firefox.

Kickstarter recently started a "Curated Pages" feature where organizations and sites can show off member projects (here's the Creative Commons one for an example). A bug in Projects: clicking on the usernames in someone's vote history leads to a 404 every time.
I'm unable to comment in Projects
I can't post a comment to Projects. OSX 10.5.7 Safari 4.0.1 and Firefox 2.0.0.14. The comment previews okay but after hitting post it returns an empty text input box and no comment is posted.
