WTF, MetaFilter? Especially after two epic threads about rape experience and not knowing whether to trust other people, it seems, I don't know. Unwise? To post about this animation that's rather the antithesis of all that work. I'm really just not getting it. [more inside]

Who are the comics-making MeFites? I am aware of Greg Nog, interrobang, XQUZYPHYR, and The Whelk... who else?

In this thread about Antony Gormley's One and Other art project in Trafalgar Square this summer, Mr Mustard said that he would post to Mefi from the plinth if picked. As I'm appearing on there tomorrow (Mon 21st) I feel honour-bound to do just that. Possible mini-meetup... [more inside]

Hey guys, remember way back in 2005 when I had that AIM bot that let you talk to random people on the net? It melted down frequently due to some restrictions of the AIM network, and I lost interest in it. Apparently, the community didn't because people have MeMailed me about it since. I talked about doing a AJAX version, but never got around to it. So I thought you might like to hear that someone else did. [more inside]

My Askmefi question only recieved one answer...I realize that this must just happen every so often, but I'm wondering, a) how I might avoid it, and, b) can I ask the same question again in the hopes of getting more answers? [more inside]

How is the question of Jeff Koons' validity as an artist, called into question by his departure from his financial worker past, anything other than chatfilter?

Any other Washington, DC area Mefites taking part in this year's Artomatic? It's May 9 to June 15. I'd like to see your work and maybe meet. Registration is still open (800 artists so far). You should at least go and see it even if you're not taking part. [more inside]

9 months ago I mentioned my Black Book Art Circle Project, and sent out a whack of books to MeFites. So far, none have come back. I did move in the meantime, but paid for mail forwarding to my current location, just so there would be no lost art. That service is about to expire. Does anyone know the status of the books they received?

I'm a bit obsessive about my album art, but I never had anything for the songs I've snatched from MeFi Music (chococat, I'm looking in your direction). So I whipped up a little something that I thought I'd share with the community. It's nothing special, but perhaps it will help fill out your Cover Flow.

I won't argue the removal of the ascii art, but it wasn't all that bad, was it? (RE)

I won't do it again, anyway.

Previous Black Book Art Circle post. The new 8 books are going out to: riotgrrl69, dersins, ThePinkSuperhero, robert angelo, david coulter (didn't give his username), nanojath, routergirl! Note that is only 7, because I promised one to klangklangston but he has not given me his mailing address (HINT).

Previous books went to brundlefly, jessamyn, cortex, dobbs, and bardic. If you are none of of these people or the new recipients, and want to participate, please say so and maybe someone will be kind enough to make you their next recipient!

Artists in every media, I'm thinking about the creative process, generating ideas for inter-media (is there such a word?) collaboration, and where abstract art originates.

In my thread about mail art, Jon-o had a great idea. I'd love to organize something like this. Is anyone interested?

Photoshop Tennis: Has been much discussed here at MetaFilter. As I'm writing a small article about it for a Chicago Arts magazine, your opinions would be appreciated.

Metafilter is a great site, but by sheer definition it covers a wide gamut of topics. Are there any Metafilteresque or 'slash' sites for artists, designers or photographers? I want a k10kesque slash site to visit.

Aside from that, what other wonder sites are there which fit into this mold? I'm currently enjoying iaslash.org a great deal, which is for information architects. Other than that, I'm stumped. Thanks!
