Following up on last month’s discussions: medium and long-term work
First, check out this other post today for necessary context and the immediate-term actions that the mod team is taking. This additional post is a roadmap for the future changes that we are considering, actions we have planned but haven't finished implementing yet, and some site issues that are not as directly related to the previous threads but tie into this process regardless. Following up on last month’s discussions: immediate actions and planning
Let's talk about how the MetaFilter community can be a more welcoming, comfortable, and equitable place for our non-white members. It's work that's overdue, from the moderation team and the community in general. There's a lot of context here, so read below before commenting. And it's vital that the voices at the center of this discussion are the community members with the most direct stakes in these issues, so if you're a member of the site's white demographic majority, you need to mostly be listening rather than speaking. So what happened with your Ask?
Did you eat the thing? Did you dump the MF? What did your doctor/lawyer say? Did you get fired? Where did you stay on that vacation and was it what you'd hoped? Did you find those shoes/pants and if so, how were they? Did you figure out what that song/book/movie was? How did your family member take it when you spoke your peace? Did you learn about the thing? Did you find a way to make more friends? Did you lose the weight? What did you do with that money? Which charity got your donation? Did you go into therapy? Was it infected? What did your landlord say? You stopped worrying about that ex, right? What happened with your question on AskMetafilter? [more inside]

"The Most Insane News Story You'll See Today"
We met homeless, hatchet-wielding hitchhiker Caleb “Kai’ Lawrence McGillivary in February. He became a meme. Earlier this week Kai was arrested for murdering a lawyer. "I believe that everyone is a little safer with this person off the streets," the prosecutor said. (This is a follow-up)

Relationship Hacks 2012? (i.e. Okay to make a sequel?)
The question located at http://ask.metafilter.com/137148/What-clever-relationship-hacks-have-you-come-up-with is one of the most favorited posts of all time, created in 2009. I've found some of the advice in there immensely useful in my own relationships and have referred back to it often.

Yes she does, but she's working on it
The painfully brilliant and beautiful blog/autobiography/comic strip I Do Not Have An Eating Disorder featured here previously stopped publication for a while (the reason is disclosed in the blog) but has now resumed. I cannot possibly recommend it highly enough. Here's a bookmark for the first page; a bookmark for the blog as it stood at the time of the FPP; and the most recent strip.

Was there ever an explanation/solution to the cell phone stalking mystery? Google only reveals news reports from 2007, and no followup information.

Chrontendo directory
I worked for a couple of days on a post on Chrontendo, the project of a guy to play every Famicom and NES game, and in chronological order to boot. (It reminds me a bit of Wowbagger the Infinitely Prolonged, but no matter.) When I finished it and tried to post it I found out that it had already been posted. (In fact, I myself had commented on it, which was odd.) However, the work I had done in constructing the post, which links to every video's description page and notes which ones contain particularly interesting games, shouldn't go to waste I think. The original thread is long closed, so I'm going to paste my links in the More Inside of this post for people to peruse and enjoy. [more inside]
