My post to Projects generated lots of hits and PR. Thanks!
a week ago i made a post to projects of a bug-riddled site i was completely sick of working on. because of you guys, since then it's gotten like 20 bazillion visitors, been on 10 gazillion blogs (good ones, sometimes!) and even got a mention on some tv station in tennessee. the best part is that it isn't even complete enough to really be of any use to anyone! so i'd just like to thank you guys for sticking it on del.icio.us, stumbleupon, your blogs and wherever else and just plain making the internet hype machine work. metafilter rules!
p.s. feedback from projects should probably be sorted by date

I thank each and every one of you.
Not Important Just Expression: I just have to say that I love metafilter. I have been aided in so many ways for years, by this wonderful place. I don't know when I started, but I know it carried me through 9-11 for example. We all owe a debt of gratitude to the founders and maintainers, for the ethic and for helping us maintain the spirit. I thank each and every one of you.
No More Captcha
Captcha is gone. Thank you Matt.
I just wanted to say thank you
I just wanted to say thank you to AskMeFi / MeFi in general. I've asked several questions and usually gotten great help. Specifically, I asked this one a while ago about neighborhoods in Chicago, and I have an update [more inside].
Email from Marshall Oak.
Remember Marshall Oak, the star trek photoshopping guy? He found us! (email inside)

digaman's awesome!
This guy just unknowingly hooked me up. For years I have been blown off by doctors with sypmtoms that I finally have a name for.
Thank you digaman! This may not seem like a big deal, but it is to me. To answer the question in your OP, yea, I was until I read all of your links.

Metafilter uptime and performance has been excellent lately
Metafilter uptime and performance has been excellent lately; Pages load in an instant and I haven't seen a JRun error in weeks. Thanks Matt!
Followup: home theater askme nets positive results
AskMeFi followup - nearly 4 months ago, I asked this question about home theater searching. Ultimately, the guidance from that thread led me to save up for and purchase an appropriate unit. Once I got the DVD player to output the right Dolby variant, we've been basking in good sound. Thanks, Civil_Disobediant and misterbrandt!
Thanks for the community warmth.
Metafilterites rock. After posting this, I not only received a great number of helpful suggestions, but in my inbox today found a number of emails offering donations totaling to well, well, well over the amount of money I spent on the puppy. Unbeknownst to me my RL friends have also been holding a collection, so today has been a wonderful reminder of the generosity of friends and strangers and how awesome people are in general. Thank you! You guys are great! [MI]
"My Comments" Shoutout
Thanks for "My Comments". This is a great thing for MeFi.
AskMe Wedding Follow-Up!
AskMefi has been very good to me, especially with questions concerning my wedding. Here is a collage of some of the photos. And here
is a link to my drunkenly posted photos that my "bride" hasn't approved of yet, (oh, well.) A big Thank You to those who helped us!
jessamyn: Thank You.
jessamyn: Thank You. I've been an internet forum moderator for years now and I think you've been doing a kick-ass job in my professional estimation. Kudos.
Yay Metafilter!
Why are the users of Metafilter so great? I'm serious. I lurk a lot and have for years, but I have yet to come across an online community that actually works other than this one. Is it the 5 dollar donation? The name? What? I love metafilter!
Followup thanks from happy AskMe user with newly-named blog
I would post this over at ask.mefi, but the thread is closed, so I'll post it here.
A few months ago, I asked for suggestions with help naming my new fashion blog at work. Thanks to a suggestion from wendell, I now have a greatly named blog column! The link is inside for those who are interested -- I don't want to self-link -- but I just wanted to honor another great ask.mefi success story! Thank you, Wendell ... and thank YOU, Metafilter.

AskMe Shoutout
Dear Matt, thank you so much for Ask Metafilter.
Thanks!
Not sure if this has been done yet, but: I'd like to thank all you MeFi-type-persons for all you've done for those of us displaced by Katrina. I know the relief fund helped me out quite a bit. Kudos, folks. Kudos. You're good people. I don't care what anybody else says.
Shoutout to the Mods
In amongst all the sniping and callouts I just wanted to interject that I find MetaFilter and AskMe on balance a very worthwhile place. Things can be frustrating sometimes in some of the more contentious posts, but this place has been a wellspring of information and thought.
Thank You Mathowie, Jessamyn, and thank you Metafilter community.

Thanks for the Katrina coverage!
I don't know if this is really an appropriate thread to post, but I feel like it has to be said: a big thank you to the Metafilter community for some really fantastic coverage and discussion on Katrina and its wake. Even though at times it may be biased, uncivil, inane and (of course) newsfilter (KatrinaFilter?), the articles and fantastic range of opinions expressed are truly awesome. My life is richer for having discovered this place. So again, thank you all.
And though a lot of MeFites cringe whenever I say it, this isNPR truly the best of the web.

I LOVE Live Preview. Thanks Matt !!
I LOVE Live Preview. Thanks Matt !!
It's always been so hard to imagine what your post is going to look like when you use bold, italics or worst of all with links. I think this will really improve posting readability factor.
On preview, didn't realize it wasn't in MetaTalk too. But I'm being greedy. It's wonderful to have in MeFi and AskME.
(Sorry if this is a repeat. My MetaTalk search timed out.)

User Callout
My question started out simply asking for advice on how to make business cards, and Fandango_Matt not only called me, he helped me design a set of professional cards. I met a future business partner the other day and he was impressed; no doubt if it weren't for Fandango_Matt's help things could have swung the other way. Thank you.
Logging in from the Sidekick works now!
OMG! Logging in from the Sidekick works now! Thanks, Matt!
Shoutout for the Mods
I'd be remiss after publicly joining in the criticism of silent edits by the admins if I didn't publicly thank jessamyn for demonstrating that she does listen to complaints. Thanks jessamyn!
Thanks, Mods!
I'm not completely sure who is babysitting Metafilter while Matt has way more important things going on, but I just wanted to say "Thanks" to whomever is keeping an eye on things and also "Thanks" to the community for (apparently) keeping the chaos to a minimum while he's away.
What a (wedding) day
Thanks for helping with my math
I want to take a moment to thank everyone for their help with my struggle in math.
I'd just like to take a moment to thank Dreama
I'd just like to take a moment to thank Dreama for organizing and pulling off the MeFi Swap, which, at least for me, went off swimmingly. Good music (Coloratura 4-eva) all-around, and I look forward to another swap in the future...so, umm, yeah...thanks!
Callout for Great Post
I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed grouse's post yesterday on London Underground maps. It was informative, well-written, well put together, and - well - just generally full of goodness. Thank you, grouse!
Thank you for fabulously detailed AskMe answers
Just a big shout out of thanks to all the members, even FFF who, in so much detail and depth, discussed my lighting issues earlier in the week. I'm not sure why, but Metafilter attracts and retains an amazingly smart, broad base-of-knowledge group of people. Truly remarkable.
How to say "thanks Ask MetaFilter"?
How to say "thanks Ask MetaFilter"
I recently asked a question and and amazed with the help I recieved. Should I just smile, post in the thread (but who would see it?) or email individual posters? Or just shut up?

Happy Birthday AskMe
Happy Birthday, Ask Metafilter! Best thing ever. Thanks, Matt.
Thanks from Mathowie
Holy mother of god. It's official, even though I was kind of worried about ponying (heh) up the dough for a couple of high ticket servers, I made enough money off the $5 signups today to pay for one year's hosting. So I want to say thanks to all the new users for ensuring the future of this place. I love ya. Some more news inside
Thanks!
Let me just say for the record that it's noon, eastern standard time, and as far as I can tell none of the new ElectionFilter threads have devolved into the mess of baseless accusations and screaming threats I was afraid I'd see today. Thanks to everyone for keeping cool heads on this so far, and whatever happens I hope we can keep it this way. I know we're all tired of it.
AskMe inspired job
Thank you thank you, AskMe! [more specific thanks inside]
Asperger's Shoutout
Just a shoutout to everyone in the Asperger's Syndrome thread -- really interesting, and civil, even with disagreements. Ponies for everyone! (and Lairbob, SpecialK, and calwatch get thoroughbreds)
Follow-up: Compiled album recommendation list.
I requested for MeFi'ers to recommend an album (or two or three) yesterday on Ask Metafilter, and got a total of 121 unique recommendations. [more inside]
Sidebar for Meetups
Matt. Way to go on the sidebar entries for upcoming MeFi meetups. It's great to know that the editorial stance of Metafilter isn't just about the good ole' U.S. of A., but also includes all those tiny little countries you may have read about in National Geographic.

Thanks everyone
Is it all right to use MetaTalk to thank everyone for wonderful links yesterday? Matt, that was a great thing. I can't recall being so moved by a website before. Thank you, everyone, for that. (and sorry if this is not appropriate for MetaTalk)
thanks matt!
thanks matt!
Thanks, Matt!
OK, either everyone has decided to take a day off of MeFi, or the new server is finally in place. Kudos to Matt (and the rest of the mefi crew), the site really smokes.
Shoutout for Projects
I'd like to congratulate Jerry Kindall for his service to the Metafilter community: He runs the MeFi Projects Announcement list, which has recently begun announcing people for hire once a month. It was a year old on April 16. Thanks, Jerry.
You were nice when my post was wrong, thanks!
Thanks for the heads-up on my post to MeFi. The fact that people were nice and not abusive proves that self-policing sites can and do work =]
Merry Christmas, and Thanks!
Merry Christmas Matt! (and everyone else BTW!)
Thank you Matt for what you have created and your obvious passion for sharing knowledge and may you and yours be blessed in the new year!

Thank you for Christmas songs
Just a follow-up to the now-defunct Christmas song thread...just wanted to thank my fellow MeFi-ers for providing an invaluable service. My husband was assigned the task at work to compile a Christmas song CD to give away at the office party, preferably some "unusual, or out of the ordinary" stuff. When he came home and whined about this assignment, I assured him, no worries! Ran to MeFi, found the Xmas song thread, and was able to provide him with more suggestions than he could fit in a wav format on a CD.
So thanks, all, for your great Christmas song recommendations! And happy holidays to all!

General Shoutout
No real comments or complaints, sorry -- just writing to say that MeFi is very interesting and entertaining today. As it is most days. Thanks, Matt.
Opera Sidebar Callout
Holy shit!! The sidebar now works in Opera! What magic spell did you cast Matt Haughey? Bravo!!
nice new interface
nice new interface, matt. (looks like the top menu still needs a bit of a tweak, but otherwise, it's terrific)
I just wanted to let everyone know that I absolutely love MeFi.
I just wanted to let everyone know that I absolutely love MeFi. I really enjoy reading the discussions and seeing the different viewpoints from different members. And I want to say "Thank You" to Matt and all the MeFi members who make this such an interesting place to come EVERY day. (Hell, sometimes, 10 or 20 times a day).
