"Silly little pet theory"
I'm genuinely curious to know if others find the use of the word "unpleasant", when directed at a female member, to be sexist? Ouisch dropped this comment and when asked to elaborate she attributed it to a "silly theory" she has which she explains here. I don't see it, but I'd be interested in further explanation.
Chrontendo directory
I worked for a couple of days on a post on Chrontendo, the project of a guy to play every Famicom and NES game, and in chronological order to boot. (It reminds me a bit of Wowbagger the Infinitely Prolonged, but no matter.) When I finished it and tried to post it I found out that it had already been posted. (In fact, I myself had commented on it, which was odd.) However, the work I had done in constructing the post, which links to every video's description page and notes which ones contain particularly interesting games, shouldn't go to waste I think. The original thread is long closed, so I'm going to paste my links in the More Inside of this post for people to peruse and enjoy. [more inside]
Favorites as bookmarks? Polioutragefilter!
Brain.. hurting.. in a recent(!?) political outrage filter, some brilliant individual made a wonderfully astute comment where he/she/it postulated that reforming government and all it entailed was a wildly complex set of problems, and the issue with the standard tea party(?) mindset was simply wiping it all away and that isn't a reasonable way to fix it. Can't. Find. It. Can you point me to it?

Post or comment about a beloved judge?
I'm having a dickens of a time finding a post or comment (and possibly an AskMe spawned by the post) about a judge who was famous for his stylish and funny decisions, and even had an extensive fan website dedicated to him. Someone also linked to a blog that collected well-written or notable legal opinions. Can anyone help me find this post?

I think so. It would be nice if this could be fixed.

They're identical "look at these assholes" posts....
"It's an awful scene and I know it's making the poliblog rounds, but it's also basically "here is an awful thing that happened" without any meat to it and folks who are paying any attention to this election cycle are pretty likely to see it themselves at TPM or elsewhere." This seemed like a reasonable deletion reason to me. So, I'm confused as to why the second Rand Paul Curb-Stomping post is less deleteworthy than the first, considering that they're basically identical links to a story on left-wing blog? [more inside]
Can I have a backwards pony?
Would it be possible (or desirable) for comments in recent activity to show up in reverse chronological order? I am forever scrolling past the stuff I have already read down to the one new comment, then blowing past it and scrolling back up. If there's already a Greasemonkey fix for this, I would love to install it.
What are best practices for discovering hacks used by MeFites? Help me hive mind!!!
As a relative newbie, when did certain phrases become cliche on ask metafilter? Specifically I refer to "What are some best practices for x?", referring to aforementioned "best practices" as "hacks" and "help me hivemind!!!". I'm curious as I work in an environment where catchphrases and buzzwords are similarly bandied about.

Me-TeaFilter not Metafilter
This post was sadly deleted before we could determine the correct solution to an age old conundrum - what is the best way for Mefites to make tea? Clearly such matters must be thrashed out in depth!
Metafilter: A Collection of Taglines
Back in 2007, cortex put together a list of the taglines created on the blue and the grey. They're ripe with phrases that could be adapted for use on signs at the Sanity/Fear rally this weekend. Can these lists be updated so we can see the more current taglines?

Metafilter not Me-Tea(party)Filter
Between Miller, O'Donnell, Aqua Buddah, and Ginny Thomas it seems like a politics filter orgy. Much like Sarah Palin, if we pick up every gossip item we could fpp each hour on this. Perhaps we can agree to take a break. [more inside]

Help me find an old post - things falling?

Thanks for the link. I made a book out of it.
Back in November of 2007 I came across jonson’s fpp about Geoff Manaugh’s blog post on a photographer named Shaun O’Boyle. I really liked the photographs, and sometimes my job allows me to develop a book. So I did. Kind of about that link. I asked Geoff Manaugh to write the intro to the book, and he said yes, and then he surprisingly cited an unrelated Metafilter comment in the essay he submitted. [more inside]

The Edge of reason
Update to this post on Tim Langdell, Mobigames and the Edge trademark: EA Victorious as Court Denies Injunction Against Publisher for 'Edge' Trademark The court has denied Edge Games’ motion for injunction, citing that it believes that Langdell made fraudulent statements to the US Patent and Trademark Office and strongly believes that Langdell is “suspect,” and has been “trolling” the game industry for licensing opportunities. His actions could possibly warrant “criminal penalties.”

Please tell me I didn't imagine this...
Racking my brains here looking for a semi-recent (this year? 2009?) Ask Metafilter question: Someone's wife was documenting every perceived slight and argument, I believe by printing out chats and emails.
Please tell me I'm not imagining this post, as it had some thoughtful answers that would be useful to show to a friend to whom this is now happening!

MetaTalk
if anyone lost a comment they're particularly proud of the deleting mod pretty much invited you to re-post it to the open thread here.
Apparently not. As one who simply doesn't have the time to monitor every thread that comes by, but who would still like to comment, may I ask what the problem is in keeping the post open? Closing any MeTa thread seems antithetical to the very concept of MetaTalk, and Cortex's reason is insubstantial.
render unto reddit
reddit is a great site and a great community - and it provides a ton of FPP content to metafilter - which is also a great site with a great community. When we create an fpp sourced from reddit can we acknowledge the source as in [via]?
Sure, if the post was created independently of reddit, then no issue, but if you did grab the slyt from reddit then it would be nice if you attributed accordingly.
crackers
I'd probably want to sweep this booger-string of a deleted thread under the rug too if it was my site. But it's sort of sad to lose such a gold star collection of mefi members practicing the non-bigotry they preach, so if anyone lost a comment they're particularly proud of the deleting mod pretty much invited you to re-post it to the open thread here.
How does metafilter stay troll free with an economy like this?
