Of late, many British have said he is to come in June and wish to bestow upon him large quantities of ale. The only questions that are left are, will the one called 'mathowie' be willing to grace us with his presence, and if so, when can we expect his arrival?

Finally! 1st quasi-annual Blue Ridge meetup in Asheville, NC, Sat. June 5th. We'll begin with a kickball game between Team Metafilter and Team Monkeyfilter and eventually wind up at Jack-of-the-Wood (an Irish pub), with a drag show to top the day off... or whatever the hell we feel like doing.

Well maybe. Tied in with this AskMeFi post I'm in the US for a couple of months from Easter weekend. LA to NYC via all sorts. Following on from amberglow's recent US to EU meetup anyone up for a reverse anywhere along the way? OK, it's not like you're getting a Miguel or anyone famous but international meetups are surely the way forward. I could even go for eyeballkid's supposed meetup record.
I know the NYC posse can deliver - 27 May to 1 June guys? - but not sure about anyone else.

San Diego meet-up follow-up
The San Diego meetup extravaganza was a success. We were expecting 20-30 people from around the Southern California region. Unfortunately only BatGrlHG, y6y6y6, LionIndex, and Matt where able to make it.
The microbrews and pizza flowed freely. Matt got the Iceland vacation (the grand total ended up being $2145), and reciprocated by telling us many MeFi secrets.
