Listen, MetaFilter, 'tis the season and all that, so get yourself over to MetaFilter Music (you know, that subsite you never go to) and check out the absolutely wonderful little Hawaiian Christmas ditty that your fellow Mefier chococat posted, OK? It's called Mele Kalikimaka and it's big fun and just all kindsa damn good and full of holiday cheer and slippery guitars.
Start listening now! Right here! No salesman will call! Unlimited offer!
OK, y'all just get over to Metafilter Music and listen to loud magic song. That is all.

A Metafilter Music Challenge for anyone and everyone... [more inside]
I have a fairly radical idea, concerning MeFi Music, which I'd like to run up the flagpole. You know, see if anyone salutes it. [more inside]
Pony request: Envisioning a golden, glowing future in which any number of other (that is to say, non-dick punching) songs at MeFi Music get the kind of comment action that "the most Favorited track of ALL TIME!" has gotten, I'd like to see individual comment linkability in MeFiMu threads. Like the blue and the other subsites have. Might this be possible?
This is just a small point, but about those little yellow slider bars on the right side of the music players on the Music top page and the Music Challenges page and individual user's pages... [more inside]
Can we get an « Older posts button for the new Music Talk section over at MeFi Music? Seeing as how there's only room for five posts at a time (I suppose), it seems like a feature folks will want. [more inside]
The MetaFilter Music Challenge is back, (*cue triumphant fanfare, followed by sound of jubilant, cheering throng*) and suggestions for the monthly Challenge themes are open to all MeFiers. This means YOU! You are hereby encouraged, month by month, to offer suggestions, and if yours is chosen, not only will your name go up in lights at the Music page, but you'll also be the spark that ignites the creative genius of some MeFi Musician. A chance at a little slice of immortality! [more inside]
ANNOUNCING: The reinstatement of the MetaFilter Music Challenge! (*cue applause*) REQUESTING: Your ideas on Challenge categories and structure. [more inside]
It's November 4th. Next MeFi Music Challenge(s) please! [more inside]
First MeFi Music Challenge? 27 eager participants got their feet wet. Second Challenge? 12 serpentine submissions. Third? 9 MeFiers took it to the bridge. Fourth and most recent? 7 made the suprhuman effort. This is not a promising trend... [more inside]
Hey, I see there's suddenly a new font in use for song titles (and linking directly to threads!) at MeFi Music. Looks good to me: the page is more unified. Might I be so bold as to make a further suggestion? Make the song titles a little smaller. I don't think they need to be so big, really, and it'd make more space, so more MeFier's songs could bask a little longer in those bright MeFiMu front page stage lights. Whaddaya think?
So, the call went out, and the call was answered: we got us some fine and snakey new songs around MeFi Town. 'Bout half as many as poured in for the previous water theme, but I reckon that's to be expected, sophomore slump and all. Just wondering, now that we're two days past the serpentine deadline, what's the next MeFi Music Challenge, admins?
As he's currently holding 4 of the 5 coveted "Most Favorited Tracks in the past 7 days", a staggering 86 (and counting!) favorites for his latest MeFi-related (and sidebarred!) tune, is it perhaps time to consider changing that heading for MeFi Music to "rock and/or cortex"? Well, anyway, congratulations, cortex!
When checking any given user's favorites page, and if it's a song from MeFi Music that the person has favorited, going to the date/time stamp for that song post results not in arriving at the post, but rather with the message: "Error: File not found". Now, I see there was a thread concerning a problem with favorited comments from MeFi Music, so maybe this problem is just something still awaiting the necessary laying on of hands from # 1?
