vito90 calls for a Tokyo MeFi meetup somewhere between Oct 4-17. I'm happy to organize.
Please leave comments if you can/want to attend and if so, what days/times are good for you. For those who are living outside of Tokyo, Saturday nights may be better. But lets also consider a Wednesday or Friday night. My location recommendation would be Ebisu but we could also go check out the new location for The Pink Cow in Shibuya too.

I've taken the liberty of setting up a mailing list for MetaFilter members in Ontario and Quebec, in the hope that it will help us get our act together and organize a MeFi get-together, whether it's in Montreal, Ottawa or Toronto (see previous attempts here and here). Or whatever else suits us.

While the online version is only accessible to paid subscribers, the WSJ today (Monday) did a special section on the Internet ("How to ... entertain children ... search the web ... find friends ... etc.). One was "Find a Blog". MeFi was mentioned two or three times ... in fact it was the Blog recommmended as the one to start with (and in fact the first one mentioned in the article itself).
Kudos Matt. Yet another in a growing list of public recognitions of your skill and committment.

Question #1: Are there any plans for a Mozilla Calendar/iCal plugin which would state the tentative dates for future swaps/meetups?

Is Meetup working or falling short of people's expectations? I'm honestly trying to attend for once, but I feel a bit out of the loop. 212 people signed up for tomorrow's gathering. Ten in my hometown of Dallas. Only 3 of us have RSVP'd. Is there gonna be no party or am I missing the boat? Ufez Jones suggests we meet somewhere else, maybe. I just don't wanna get left out.
