Could we have a "My Shows" view on the FanFare front page? I probably only want to keep up with at most 4 or 5 of the whole list there....as we add more shows, that list is just going to grow and grow. Thoughts?
How about notifications of proposed meetups?
I have my profile set to receive notifications of IRL meetups within 100 miles, but I would also like to get notified about proposed meetups within the same distance. Who knows, maybe adding one more person can shift it from "proposed" to "let's do this thing."

Ctrl+enter to post/preview?
I was wondering what the community and dev team thinks about adding a ctrl+enter shortcut to post comments. It's something that's fairly common elsewhere on the web, and in my opinion it would be nice to have it here as well. Going to the mouse to click on Post Comment is not exactly a big deal, but it would be cool if there were a keyboard shortcut for those of us who are slightly mouse-averse. [more inside]

A pony for our MeFi birthdays?
We can click birthdays in user profiles to find MeFites who share the same birthday, and we can click locations to find other MeFites who are geographically close. How about a clickable join-date to find MeFites who joined on the same day (+/- N yrs)? It would be like a pony crossed from the old-timers thread and bondcliff's birthday pony! [more inside]

Certainly I'm not the only one who would find this pony useful
I would like to have something like (SLNYT) automatically inserted after SLNYT embedded links the way the the indicator is inserted for Youtube links. Sometimes posters do this themselves, often they don't. I realize that there is a preview window, but it would be nice to have something a little more conspicuous right next to the link. I only have access to a few NYT articles per month, and I want to use them as judiciously as possible. What do others think? Thanks for considering this!

Once upon a time someone posted a speech (or maybe just a link thereto) in which George Washington was saying "Ask not what your country can do for you..." to a bunch of veterans who were leaning on a cash strapped Federal government. IRL Request: When posting, notification of other IRL events on same day
As someone who frequently posts IRL events, I'd really love if, when I previewed the post, the page told me about other meetups on that day within a 50 mile radius of my location. It would be awesome, because then I could say, "Oh, so-and-so is having their ice cream meetup that afternoon; I'll just make the post for the next week instead." It would also have the benefit of showing me events that might be outside the radius I've set for my own personal IRL notifications, but that might still be in range for attendees. What do you think? Would other IRL posters appreciate such a feature?
Pony Request: This Link Has Been Posted Before - Comments Version
When you post a FPP to the Blue, your links are automatically run through some sort of search function to see if they have been posted before. This might be, if not too site-intensive, a useful thing for comments as well, so that people don't find themselves posting the same links, with different flavor text. [more inside]

So if you look at an Ask thread on its own, best answers are marked with a distinct background.
However, in Recent Activity, best answers are marked with a green check. That's because "my answers" are marked with a distinct background.
I find this unnecessarily confusing and would appreciate some consistency.

3000+ Comment Megaponies
So, even outside of election years browser crushing 3000+ post megathreads are now a not uncommon thing - should we be looking at pagination at the 2000 comment mark? And if not pagination what else could be done to make them less of a browser crushing experience, especially on mobile?
Look, I know it's a crazy thing to ask, but....
Digg recently announced that it was building an RSS reader. That's fine, but I don't like Digg, I like Metafilter. So even though this is way too much to ask, I was wondering: might Metafilter consider creating an RSS reader subsite?
I would pay an extra membership fee, or even an annual fee, and I don't think I'm alone.
Could we switch to "newest first" for comments in a user's activity?
The activity pages for each user put the last thread commented in first on the page, but within each thread the comments are in chronological order. I think it would make more sense, and be more intuitive, to have both the thread and the comments in reverse chronological order. This would mean reading down the page would take you deeper into history until you came to the next thread. [more inside]

Sometimes, coming into a thread and seeing a comment a mod has made, there's confusion - it seems to have little relation to the comments immediately above it. Often, but not always, this means stuff has been deleted, but it's hard to tell. How hard would it be to implement delete notifications or a way to show that comments had been deleted in-thread? I made an ill considered remark in timsteil's folkstreams post and he made a polite response which made me feel ashamed after I saw his consternation. I wanted to clarify my harsh out and went to make a clarifying comment when my computer crashed and I had to reboot. And when I got back, I made my comment and then saw his was already deleted. I am getting so sick of the editing of our conversations.I really think sometime that there should be placeholders for all deletions you make. You are overdoing it, in my estimation. [more inside]

When I was your age, this space was for jokes.
I like the sidebar on the front page, and how it shows nifty stuff and contact activity. When I'm on my phone, I don't have that, and it makes me feel sad inside. Would the powers that be consider adding a line to the menu on the mobile site that would link to the sidebar content? In my head, this looks exactly like what we have on the front page, except tinier and by itself.
