Any chance of a Best Answer pony? [more inside]
Waiting is not an option.
Telling anonymous to wait to test when they have specifically requested pre-birth paternity testing methods does not "help in finding an answer". [more inside]
An Ask-me with a happy ending.
Thanks for the letters
No snark here.
This post was flagged and the system worked as it usually does with cortex quite rightly deleting it. [more inside]
Privacy or Criminal Activities?
It seems like there have been several questions lately about how to do things that make it easy to do illegal things or hide one's identity generally in a way that does not seem to have a legitimate purpose, or at the very least seems to only have a vague "I want to avoid harassment" or "I want to protect my privacy" purpose. What gives? [more inside]
Can I ask you a question?
I propose that a new flag be added to AskMe posts: "OP has shown that he/she does not have a genuine interest in getting this question answered."
The Numinati
Seeing this response by the original poster made me recall this little pony request. The poor little thing has been left outside in the rain for a fortnight. [more inside]
AskMe formatting wonkiness
Regarding the AskMe RSS feed formating - Currently there is no line break between the question and the [more inside]. Sometimes this makes for an odd run-on and repetitive paragraph that isn't what the poster intended. Since screen real-estate isn't a problem in the feed, might the powers-that-be consider throwing a paragraph between these sections? I use google reader but it's also formatted the same way in bloglines if this helps.
Boooooooooobs.
Hey, you know how I'm apparently your friendly neighborhood irrational/uptight/bitchy feminist? Well, my Batsignal is going off. 'Cause I'm bitchy/uptight/irrational/out to ruin your fun. And I don't like conversations that are all about the hilarious inevitability of adults ogling some lady's rack. [more inside]
When should I ask mefi?
What is the best time of day (or, even more specifically, day of week and time) to ask metafilter? [more inside]
Check on this one.
I see a check mark by this question on the AskMe front page, but no best answer marked inside. [more inside]
Rocking Homelessness?
I'm uncomfortable that this "How Can I Be Homeless?" question was approved. Seems to me this person should not be helped to pursue a course of action that is not only dangerous but which will almost certainly involve his making use of resources intended to help people who truly have nowhere to turn.
This is not the answer you are looking for.
Is using the "best answer" function to clarify the original question or to offset the OP's own comments from the pack really the best use of that feature?
Nothing and Nthing
Whence Nthing? Isn't the word "seconding" meant to include multiple votes of support? Is this something peculiar to Ask Metafilter?
link requests, askmefi
I ask trepidly: What say Mefi on link-requesting AskMeFi posts? Are they appropriate for the scene?
Thank you, Metafilter
Translate ReadMe int CheckMeOutFromLibrary
I seem to remember that in the wake of this question someone mentioned (on MeTa, I think) putting all the books that appealed to them into an Amazon wishlist. They were then able to use some sort of tool that exported it into a format useful for taking it to their public library. Does anyone remember this posting? I tried to search for it but my googleFu blah blah blah...
Try it, see what happens
MeFi's Eternal September is nigh, what with the holidays coming and Mac market share rising. Is there anything we can/should do to head off the inevitable flood of "I just got my Mac, now what?" questions that are already asked over and over in AskMe? [more inside]
Why was my reply to post 78716 removed?
Why was my reply to post 78716 removed? All I did was complete the quotation used by the original poster. It was from the Young Ones TV program. I really am not a fan of censorship, and AksMefi is not where I expect to encounter it. [more inside]
An AskMe about your favourite recommendations...
A good while ago, there was an AskMe question along the lines of 'what are the things you love to recommend', 'give me your top recommendations', and so on. Can anyone help me find it?

What will we think about and why?
It's chatfilter because "major issues" is objective and undefinable, or if not undefinable, a distasteful acceptance of political groupthink. Well, anywho, it's standing, so let's put discussion here. [more inside]
You are not helping anyone...please contribute beneficial comments.
Honestly, telling people that they should not be asking for help on AskMe is unproductive! [more inside]
I don't like your language, young man.
Is "weird" AskMe too chatty?
My 5 year old needs an answer to "What is the weirdest thing you've ever heard of?". Would this be considered chat-filter on AskMe (and therefore inappropriate)?
You are The Man.
This AskMe post has made me lose my faith in humanity, and I desperately need to spew bile about that. [more inside]
Line Break Issues in "Preview"
It's pretty annoying that inserting carriage returns shows line breaks as typed in the "preview" window, but the final result is breakless (after all, what's the point of the preview?). I've had unpredictable results manually adding "BR" tags and "P" tags...they seem to sporadically interact with the typed carriage returns and yield vast white space.
If anyone can point me to a workaround, I'd be appreciative. But, really, it'd be fitting if postings posted per the preview, no?

Important AskMe Follow-up: It was a loaf of bread, a container of milk and a stick of butter. [more inside]

AskMe thread on chilling Coke, specifically this answer, makes Lifehacker's list of Top 10 Food and Drink Hacks. Comments contain doubt as to the real identity of Mefi's own asavage.
Ask.me popular favorites
It's nice that we have popular favorites for ask.me for the last 7 days and the last thirty days, but can we get all time favorites as well? (also links to the 7 days and 30 days on the popular questions page.)

offensive, sexist, NOT RACIST
I see that this AskMe post gratuitously compares a beautiful woman's face to a diseased rectum, distended with constipated feces. [more inside]
Deleted questions are showing up in intermittent fashion, and that is shaking me to my core. Won't you help?
Dumb, probably-asked-before question about deleted questions. [more inside]
AskMe feature suggestion
I think it'd be cool if when posting as anonymous on AskMe, you had the option to provide a separate password which would let you log in as anonymous just for the thread you're creating and post comments. The main benefit is that it would allow responders to ask for more information. The main risk I see is that someone could out themselves by accident if they forgot to log in as anonymous before commenting...
College interview AskMe?
Some time ago I recall reading a really good AskMe about college alumni interviews. Now I can't find it for the life of me. Help? [more inside]
Where should this question go?
So, apparently AskMe is not the place for this question. Where should it have gone instead?
omg it's YOU!
Isn't is awfully rude to make a big deal out of non-anonymity in an AskMe thread? It's implying someone should be ashamed, isn't it?
Wanted: better jerk skills.
How does it feel?
Just wanted to call attention to an AskMe that really takes you on a roller-coaster ride -- opening with sadness, stopping off at beauty, providing lots of warm fuzzies throughout, stopping off for a surprising dollop of disgust on the way to inexplicable hilarity (ymmv), and ending up being a great reference point for anybody in a relationship.
this is the TITLE box, isn't it?
How are people putting their main question in the title box in AskMe so often? Is something wrong with the form? [more inside]

where's the gift list?
There was a list in the last few weeks of a bunch of weird places to get christmas gifts. One was the american science supply and the author commented that a similar list was put up last year. Searching metafilter and ask metafilter has proven fruitless. Can someone get me back to the post? thanks.
