First of all, thank you to #1, pb, et al. for all of the new toys, it's not even Christmas!
I'm wondering now, if it's worth the effort (or possible) to include the "Bold", "Italics" and "links" buttons to MeFiMail and much more importantly, to AskMe.

Woman: fetch food.
This AskMe seems to be raising a kerfuffle, understandably. It's a very polarized subject; perhaps worth bringing to the attention of those who don't frequent AskMe? languagehat made a quite worthwhile comment.
Strikeout?
Wow. I've never before posted to the Green and gotten a big fat goose egg in response. [more inside]
Hello, someone has answered your question.
So like reddit sends me an email when someone responds to my postings. Is it possible to engineer the system here in a similar fashion to email me when someone posts an answer to my Ask Metafilter question? I think it could make it a more valuable service. Literally a golden cow. Like Baal.

"Before You AskMe-- SearchMe!"
It's that time of year again... time for Santa's magical dance to dispel the swarm of would-be gift-givers descending on AskMe! [more inside]
3100 flavors of awesome
AskMe is quickly turning into my favorite food resource of all time. It's a vast treasure trove of practical, easy to make recipes and good food-related advice shared by regular folks, not food writers or even, necessarily, hardcore foodies. Can we have a thread consolidating the favorite/most useful recipes and advice AskMe has produced? [more inside]

Shit Fetish Ask MeFi Post
I once saw an Ask MeFi post regarding, if my memory serves me correctly, a man who wanted advice on how to deal with a girlfriend who had a shit fetish. Help me find that post. [more inside]
Where is the ask me post about brother in an accident?

An Ask Metafilter comment of mine (this one) has been quoted in Jeff Warren’s new book The Head Trip: Adventures on The Wheel of Consciousness. Cool, eh? [more inside]

No right name for that bucket of bolts
What makes this kind of ask.me post not chatfilter? There is no real answer to this kind of thing, it's just "hey, we got a new car, help us be cute!"
if you can't speak the language, don't.
I've noticed a weird variation on the I-don't-know-the-answer-but-here's-a-wild-guess syndrome on AskMe: in "help me translate this" questions, people who quite clearly don't speak the target language still offer their awkward, ungrammatical or just-plain-wrong translations. [more inside]
Ask MeFi Connection issue?
I've just joined MeFi as a new member, specifically for the purpose of asking a question on AskMeFi. Usually, I do this from work, and until a few days ago, I could reach AMF without a problem from work. Now, I can reach all parts of MeFi except AMF from my office. Is there some issue going on? I'm not getting the usual 'forbidden' error, I'm getting 'gateway not available', which indicates the site is not reachable. The hostname resolves, and I'm getting good ping times from it. Suggestions?

The great AskMe folllowup roundup -- sort of a pony, sort of a good idea. People, if you have posted an AskMe in the last year or so (meaning it is still live) and you found the answers helpful, and something happened as a result of the AskMe, many people are curious to know what the end result is. Going back, marking best answers if you haven't done so, and telling us what the heck ended up happening would all be much appreciated. [more inside]

Prenez soin de l'anonyme
In light of this art project, UbuRoivas went to 59,469 Mefites, chosen for their intarnerdiness, to analyze, translate, or reinterpret a selected anonymous AskMe. The resulting collection of responses filled the grey place at MetaFilter with beauty, music, snark & mirth. [more inside]

Thank you for the books
I just want to thank the MeFites who faithfully answer all the book questions that get asked here, like this one.
And very special thanks for those who include an Amazon link. I know not everyone supports them, but I don't usually buy from Amazon; I export my wishlist to a spreadsheet via Librarything, and take it whenever I go used bookshopping. Thus, I've had many, many hours of great reading thanks to AskMeFi. Having good books to read means a lot to me, and I just wanted to thank you all. [more inside]

Need help finding poignant AskMe answer regarding the road to lawyerdom
Trying to find what I think was an AskMe (or possibly MeFi) comment from a while back, wherein the commenter outlines the fictional life story of someone whose aim is to make a lot of money so they can be happy, but ends up missing the mark along the way and turns into someone rather unhappy (but with the money). Question about deals: Bad deletion
How was the AskMe about "your favorite frugalities" chatfilter? Seemed like a legitimate question to me with some decent, interesting answers. Bad deletion.
Is calling a poster a cheap jerk appropriate for the green?
This guy is getting an awful lot of insulting and unhelpful responses, most calling him petty, a jerk, and cheap (based upon the supposed cost of his wedding and inferred wealth). Appropriate?
please don't kill the thread while i'm replying
i imagine that kelvin-helmholtz is so long because there's some kind of balance related to radiation pressure (vaguely vaguely like eddington limit?) but i may be way off - never thought about it before. if it is radiative pressure (or anything related to being hot) that holds things up that means that you'll still get an initial collapse and ignition. so i think initial "inner" thermal equilibrium will be much faster, but final steady state could take a long time.
and why on earth (or sun) is this chatfilter? delete the stupid answers, not the question. i realise it's not one of your valued "what stupid piece of crap for my kitchen should i waste money on today because i can't cook for shit but boy i know how to use my credit card like a pro?" questions, but it still has a valid answer.

Is there any disincentive to posting crap comments in AskMe? Should there be?
The poached becomes the poacher!
No leaky fishtank mystery, but similar. Following up on this AskMe of mine. I have egg on my face.
Gawker tries its hand at RelationshipFilter
IANAL, but I'll give legal advice anyway.
I'm sure I'm going to get absolutely hammered for this, but...consider it my personal pony request. AskMe should have some kind of "flag" for when an answer given is dangerous. Not simply ill advised, irrational, immature, subject to different discretion, or bad, but simply so wrong it could hurt, in a legal, medical, etc. way, the OP who asked for the advice. Yes, I say this because once again I am angered to see a non-lawyer, posting as such, giving legal advice that has no basis in fact, reality, etc., and as such simply sends the OP in a really bad direction. Again, I'm not talking about debatably bad advice, but answers that are simply so wrong it hurts. It's one thing to give your 2 cents, but another to suggest that a technical legal issue that has no application whatsoever is the right answer. So, I think there should be some kind of user-viewable flag that lets others know educated answerers think an answer is BAD. Since we already have a method to indicate people think an answer is GOOD...
