Wasn't there a new podcast in the works as recently as a few weeks back? If you're still in need of questions & commentary from semi-reliable users, that I'd like to suggest acting now. I tried to gift a membership to a minor internet celebrity, but I got the message "It appears your friend already has an account, as this email address is in use". Really? That's cool -- now who is it? Can there be a way of entering in an address and getting a username back, so I can add that account to my contacts?

Earlier today, there was a posting about geographical knowledge, with links to an online series of tests. The posting seems to have disappeared. I can't find it in the archives or through a site search. Can someone point me to the link or the site with the tests? I'm having no luck finding the one I want through Google. Thanks.

Simple proposition, but perhaps not a simple implementation.
Or perhaps loathsome to the majority.
Some sort of marker (and even the ability to disable it) to show where you left a thread after returning several hours, or even days, later. When it starts rapidly closing in on, say, 200, it's not so easy to find where you last were.

For those of us who might like to get the cream of the comments without spending so much time digging through them -- such as on posts with hundreds of 'em -- could we have a "view only favorited comments" button or something?

tags page I get records 6-55 of 55 rather than 51 - 55 as the heading suggests.

What exactly happens when you flag a post? I know what the general response is, but how does it alert management? Does the post get highlighted, like what us plebes see when something on ask.mefi gets tagged "correct answer"?

I'm starting to think that
this thread on the Detroit monorail is weird joke/hoax, and it best is just a poor FPP since it's mostly just a collection of wikipedia links with no actually recent news stories or government/corporate press releases. Can it please go away before the Detroiters get home from work and go into a tizzy?

I'm looking for a post I read here — at least I think I did — concerning the natural evolution of online communities. The conclusion talked about population growth leading to divisive groups that clash with each other leading to the decline of the community... or something along those lines.

So I missed the deadline to call in my question. That would have been fun, but life has been crushing, it happens. Since I can not wait until the next time - Matt, Jess, Cortex, JB, others?: we have MeFi Music, which is really so much fun, but so many MeFites have other talents. Can we expand MeFi Music, or add another category, to include other arts? I would really love to see short stories, poems, paintings, photos, etc.

Any way we can get an input box on the 'add as contact' page so that we can enter something that only we can see (on our own profile page) as to why we're adding someone as a contact? I find the provided options useless and I'd like to leave myself a note as to why I've added someone. Often, I'd even like to "link" them to a specific comment/post.

My
user profile page shows I have one favourite, yet when I click to see what it is, I see a page that tells me I have no favourites (which is correct, as I don't use that feature). What's the dealio? Anyone else seeing an incorrect count on their profile page?

I apologize for this question but I'm pulled out my hair trying to find a post on the blue. It was an archive of documentaries, I think a fair number were from the BBC, on famous people in history? I remember watching one on Nietzsche and haven't been able to track the post down. I think it was posted in the last two months. Thanks.
