We're Not The Fortean Times
Have validate my supernatural experiances and share your own questions always been allowed on The Green?
Obligatory "obligatory pet pic" comments
Maybe I'm the only one, but the "pics or GTFO" business with respect to pet questions on AskMe really gets on my nerves. I feel like it makes MetaFilter come off as clique-y, and it trivializes serious questions about pet behavior and health. I've been letting this issue bother me for a long time now without saying anything, but a recent example has finally pushed me over the edge of raising the topic here. [more inside]
AskMe about mixed up text messages
I could have sworn that there was an AskMe not too long ago about sending one text message but having a different one come up on your recipient's phone. Of course, I can't find it. Am I thinking of something I read somewhere else, or does this question exist?
AskMe Has Changed My Life
Back on April 20--three full weeks ago--I saw this AskMe about Sherlock/Watson fanfic, and idly clicked on it. Then I followed a few links, because why not? I'm a curious sort of person. [more inside]
Don't' Drink The Water
MeFi Bat Signal
Is there some sort of informal way that we can self-organize into a network of volunteers that can provide local assistance to AskMefites in need? Or maybe have the option for location information on AskMe questions so that we could receive alerts to local questions a la IRL? Or something? (Apologies in advance -- this is long, half-baked, inarticulate & rambly.) [more inside]
anon answers
I'm curious what the status is on the idea of having an anonymous option for answering questions in askme. [more inside]
Writing to find a post about writing
Or it could have been a comment, about writing or planning a book. It went something like this. (I think it was askme, but I'm not sure).
1. Event
2. Climax
3. Ending
And then
1a. Lead up to event.
1b. actual event.
1c. results of event.
2a. Lead up to climax
2b. Almost climax
2c. Climax!
Showing a hierarchical method of laying out a story, so that the paragraphs practically write themselves.
Thank you.
Looking for a MeTa
Does anyone remember a MeTa about AskMe questions that really, really did not go the way the asker expected? I can't seem to find the post I'm thinking of. It would have been fairly recent, probably posted in the last year or so.
Make the clothes fit you, not vice versa
I'm looking for an AskMe comment about getting clothes tailored. [more inside]
Frederick Jaffe's son shows up to answer a question
The answers in my old question about a Planned Parenthood were all perfectly good, but I got the best answer and some new documents in a MeMail from now mefite Dave Jaffe, son of the memo author Frederick Jaffe. [more inside]
A reasonless What's-Your-Favorite
I'd like to post a "What's your favorite X" AskMe. I'm using it to find the one answer I need for a specific use (and I'd be happy to update about my project in the thread later), but I think talking about my use in advance would bias people toward a too-narrow set of responses. [more inside]
Take my jokes... please!
If only you'd read the title

Someone's probably asked this already...
Looking for a question on the green: College leaver with a headful of ideas is left with low motivation after discovering ideas have already been done. Needs mojo back. [more inside]
Also, if someone knows an RSS reader with which to read the answers...
Did my AskMe query about advantageous reading in one's line of work set the record high ratio of question favorites to number of answers? More importantly, can anyone add to it? [more inside]
AskMe Resolved, Six and a Half Years Later
Back in 2006, I asked a question about a scene I saw on TV back when I was a kid. No one knew the answer. [more inside]
Recent AskMe about hand-painted signs/becoming a sign painter?
I remember there being an AskMe recently about hand-painted signs — specifically (if I'm remembering rightly) about how to learn to paint them. Unfortunately, my search-fu has failed miserably, regardless of search terms I've used. Does this ring a bell? [more inside]
A callout... for AWESOMENESS!
I've gotten a lot of useful answers to my AskMe questions, but this question seemed to be a stumper. Until... [more inside]
oh hey guys here's a document that describes everything in detail, nbd
I really like it when an AskMe that could be pretty speculative is answered by someone unexpectedly coming up with an authoritative first-hand document. Anyone have other examples of this? [more inside]

AskMe To The Rescue!
Pony Request: 160 hours between AskMes?
I like to post AskMes at around 10 am on Tuesdays.
If I have my post ready at 9:15 or 9:30, I'm prevented from posting until it's been a full 168 hours since my last post.
I think the one-post-a-week rule works really well, but it would be nice if it were a little less strict.
Would you consider changing it from 168 hours between posts to 160 hours or 162 hours or even 166 hours? [more inside]

End-of-year AskMe Followup Reminder
It's the 31st of December, so now is a good reminder to look through all the AskMe's you posted in 2012 and add any followups, as they will start to close over the next year.
Best Stuff AskMe?
Some time ago (at least 2-3 years), there was an AskMe about "the best website for reviews of consumer products" or something like that. One answer featured a blog/forum meant entirely for reviews of headphones. Anyone remember either the thread or the site? It was orange/tan and very minimalist. Possibly spun off SomethingAwful.
Most popular AskMe posts of 2012
OK, it being year-end and all, I thought I'd go have a look at the most popular AskMe posts in the last year... only to find that I can't really filter down like that (leastways not so I can tell)... so I decided to put a list together myself, and make it my first post on the grey! 30 would be a nice, round number, but I could only find 29. Please enjoy responsibly! [more inside]
